- Stigandr pronounced STEE-gahn-dr, one of the stableboys

- Jarl pronounced YAH-rl, one of the castle's higher up guards

     It was today.

I feel weird like I'm moving around in water or something. I don't really feel how tired I am from my training session anymore. I don't feel hungry anymore. I somehow make it down to the stables. I walk over to Stigandr and he frowns.

     "Are you alright, my lady?"

I nod slowly. "Can you get a horse ready for me to ride, please? As quickly as you can."

"Right away. I'll prepare Elding for you."

Stigandr walks quickly over to where the horse stuff is at. I walk slowly back outside and look around without really focusing on anything. I stand there until I suddenly hear Elding neigh from behind me. I turn around and Stigandr leads Elding over to the usual spot so I can get on easily. I blink and I'm somehow already walking over.

"My lady? Are you sure you're alright?"

I get up onto Elding's back and look at Stigandr.

"I'm fine. Thank you for getting him ready." I turn Elding towards the direction I want him to go. "Move fast, Elding. Just go until the castle can't see us and keep going."

Elding whinnies and starts running fast so I lean forward and hold on tight. I know I should tell someone where I am going, but I don't. I should have taken food or water, but I'm not hungry. I can't really think too much about anything so I focus on getting to where I want to go. I look up at the sky and my heart beats so hard it hurts.

     I'm sorry.

Loki appears right outside his mother's chambers again after teleporting to different places all over the castle looking for his best friend. Immediately after Lady Sif told him and his mother that the little Valkyrie had left her side, two thoughts materialized in his mind. The first: she knew. He does not know how she knows but she does. The second: he had to find her as soon as possible. He does not want her to be alone even if she is hiding from everyone. Dagny walks through the open door to Loki with a sandwich in her hand.

"Your mother told me to make sure you started eating this as soon as you came back. She said to tell you that you have to wait for Lady Sif and the two guards anyway so eat."

Loki gladly takes the plate, thanks Dagny, and sits down in a chair closest to the door. What he ate earlier was not enough and he had yet to eat anything else even though he was using his magic a lot. Even running around the castle to look seemed too slow for him. Loki ate quickly as his impatience grew. He finished eating just as he heard two different sets of running footsteps coming towards the open door.

He walks out to meet whoever is coming because his mother told him not to let Lady Astrid know that her daughter is missing. Queen Frigga and Lady Astrid are in her bedroom along with Sigrid. The rest of the handmaidens are in the front room ready for instructions from Queen Frigga or helping look for the little Valkyrie. Lady Sif and one of the guards stop in front of Loki a few feet away from the open door.

Lady Sif speaks first. "I have checked everywhere I could think of and she is not there. I am sorry I let her out of my sight, Prince Loki."

Loki shakes his head. "There is no need for apologies Lady Sif. You are her friend and her teacher, not her keeper." He turns to the guard. "Anything?"
