It was winter in Finland, in the white snow were two children running up towards a hill covered in snow.

Hurry up Ven-san! You're too slow!

The girl runs uphill, only to slide down. Luckily, she'd get caught by the boy that was following.

For God's sake Beniko, I told you to watch your step.

Scratching her head, she apologized.

Beniko: Yeah, sorry. I just wanted to get up there quickly!

Venni: You're an idiot, you know that?

Beniko: Shut up, will you? Even if I'm an 'idiot', I bet I'm better than you at Blading!

Going silent for a bit, he puts his hand on his chin, looking down.

Venni: Hmm... we'll see when we get to the top.

The pair got into position around the stadium.

Beniko: I'll Burst you in 10 seconds!

Venni: Go ahead then, try it. You won't even do it anyways.

The pair begin their countdown, then launched with all their power.

Venni: Take the center!

Beniko: Going on the defensive? If that's so, I'll break through your walls!

Venni's Bey took the center immediately, but Beniko would come crashing in immediately, setting his Bey off balance a little. Venni's then regains his balance and retaliates by hitting Beniko from underneath while it was stationary, sending her Bey flying back to the wall.

Beniko: Let's go again!

Beniko's Bey then crashed into his Beyblade again, sending a barrage of attacks in rapid succession.

Beniko: How's that?!

Venni: Impressive, but not enough.

Beniko's jaw dropped slightly, shocked that it still couldn't phase his Bey.

Beniko: What?

Venni's stance had strengthened, and with Beniko sending an attack, her Bey Bursted immediately.

Beniko: Ah! No!

Beniko let out a sigh, disappointed. Venni then took the parts of her Bey and fixed them.

Venni: You still have a long way to go, here.

He gave Beniko her own Bey, which she took immediately. Then, Venni noticed the weather becoming progressively worse.

Venni: The storm's brewing up, let's go back.

The two left in a hurry to go home, as they came back they were greeted by their parents.

What took you two so long? We were worried!

Beniko: We had a little battle outside since the stadium was broken here anyways.

Venni's mother talked to him in their own mother tongue (Finnish), and so would he.

Venni (Finnish): Sorry for taking a little too long.

It's fine, next time, don't go out for too long, okay?

Venni (Finnish): Yeah, we'll probably go out when the weather's fine already.

Kaarina (Finnish): Wouldn't that be the time where Beniko's family will leave, right?

Venni (Finnish): Wait, is that so...?

Pausing, he'd take a look at his friend.

Kaarina (Finnish): That's just how it's going to be, Venni. This place isn't their home.

While the boy was a little sad, Beniko suddenly interrupted their conversation, wanting to ask permission.

Beniko: Oi, Venni! We'll be using the sauna if you don't mind.

Venni: Yeah, go on ahead.

Smiling, she left and went with her mother.

Beniko: Alright, let's go!

Beniko and her mother headed to their sauna, with Beniko running ahead, Venni looked at them with a bit of sadness in his eyes, noticing his mother crouched in front of him so that she could talk to him even better.

Kaarina: Look, I'll tell you one solution to this.

Holding his hand and having him face her, she spoke.

Kaarina: Remember her, and hope that she comes back one day. Have the courage and stay strong, okay?

Later on that night, they had dinner. The two finished their food and Beniko stood outside on the balcony, watching the aurora borealis.

Beniko: The sky looks really cool here, I haven't seen anything like this!

Venni: Yeah, it's amazing isn't it?

Beniko: Yeah!

The two fell silent, with Beniko looking up to the sky and Venni looking to the ground. Venni broke the silence with his voice, which was somewhat somber.

Venni: Hey, you're gonna leave soon right?

Beniko: Yeah, I am.

Venni: Can you promise me one thing?

Beniko looks towards Venni.

Beniko: What is it?

Venni: In case I forget about you, will you remember me? As friends.

Beniko would go silent for a moment, then she'd smile at him.

Beniko: Why would I forget this place? Or you to begin with, so...

Extending her hand, she reached out to her friend.

Beniko: Promise me you'll remember me... and keep on Blading, alright?

Pausing, he'd look to his friend.

Venni: Yeah.

The two lock fingers, doing a pinky promise and smiling at each other.

[8 years later, Venni's perspective]

A scholarship for this Japanese high school, which apparently has a good reputation and is pretty well-known for their honor students.

After being done with packing up, he'd take a deep breath before staring out the window.

I'm wondering if Beniko's gonna be there... it's been a while since I've heard that name, even in my mind.

Putting on his shoes and taking his luggage, Venni waved goodbye.

Kaarina: Hey, Venni.

He looked back at his mother and paused.

Kaarina: Be safe out there, alright? Don't forget to keep in touch.

Her eyes were slightly teary.

Venni: Don't worry mom, I'll take care of myself.

He approached her, and wiped her tears, hugging her afterward.

It's time for me to leave. Bye, Mom.

Venni left the Lehtinen household and moved on to his new school life... in Japan.

[Later, in the plane]

I'm looking forward to this, and also there's something Mom gave me...

He opened up a box from his bag, and his eyes widened.

This thing... isn't this?

The contents of the box were a six-blade Beyblade, a launcher with a grip, and gloves.

Beyblade gear? Why'd she give this to me? Well, it's not like I'm gonna use it anyways but, I'll still keep it.

Closing the box, he kept it in another bag of his.

Pilot: Prepare for takeoff.

As the plane began to rise, Venni's body relaxed.

I'm on the way to another country, this is gonna be interesting.

...

Well, here I come Japan.
