"Yeah... but you did it and now you've gotta just rip the bandage off and deal with it. Hiding in here and avoiding him isn't gonna make the fact that you kissed him go away." He annoyingly poked her cheek. "Knowing how stubborn the two of you are, it's obvious that you both aren't gonna talk about it. So I say, don't let it stress you out. Unless..."

Her eyebrows raised. "Unless, what?"

"Unless you stop being stubborn and be the first to talk about it." He shrugged. "Who knows, he might unreject you."

"That's not a word, Abel."

Abel flashed her a million-dollar smile. "It is now." He poked her face again and she smacked his hand. "Hey, was that the reason why you were sneaking out of the room at five in the morning?"

"I forgot my toothbrush in his bathroom, and decided to get it while he was asleep."

His eyebrows raised. "Was he asleep?"

"It looked like it, I don't know. All I know is that I needed to get my toothbrush, I didn't pay attention to anything else." She sat up. "Promise you won't tell the others about this."

"Not even Adam?"

Zadia groaned. "Especially not Adam."

Abel nodded, disappointedly. "Fine. Cross my heart and hope to die." He promised.

"Abel." She warned, hating when he said that.

He groaned. "Okay, okay, I promise Zadia."

From downstairs, Roman impatiently drummed his fingers on the counter as he stood in front of the coffee machine, waiting for his coffee to finish. He blinked and ran a hand over his head, his eyes shut for a second. "Who's been using this? I told everyone it was off-limits." He said, then hit the machine, trying to speed up the process. "Now it's broken."

"It's not broken, I made yesterday's coffee with it and it worked just fine. No one but the two of us uses it." Adam said, serving the plates filled with breakfast on the table. "If you'd stop hitting it, I'm sure it'll work just fine."

"It's not working, Adam."

"Patience, Roman," Adam remarked, barely bothered by his attitude this morning. He was used to it.

"What the hell is with you, today?" Lynn asked, with Tino on her lap, banging on the table. The plates chattered and the table shook, while he babbled to himself. "You're moodier than usual, you've got the baby acting out."

"Didn't get any sleep last night," Roman grumbled, pouring himself a steamy cup of coffee. It was all Zadia's fault and her sneaking into his room to retrieve her toothbrush later in the night didn't help the matter.

Lynn's eyes darted to Adam, who quickly turned away. Her eyebrows rose suspiciously. "Okay... isn't that usual for you?"

Roman looked down at his cup. "It is, but." He stopped himself.

"But what?" Lynn pressed.

"I've just... got a lot on my mind." He said, after a while.

"I wonder why." They heard Adam mumble from across the room. Four pairs of eyes snapped his way instantly. "I... I mean, that sucks to hear." He stuttered, then looked around. "Where the heck is Zadia and Abel?"

Roman cleared his throat at the sound of Zadia's name. "I should get going, don't want to be late for this new target, the payout is big for this one."

"Head out?" Both Adam and Lynn said at the same time. "Today is inspection day, remember. The organization is sending in the sweepers, I told you this already." Lynn passed Adam the baby. "No one can be home while they're here, you know that."
