Charlottes P.O.V

I woke up the next morning with his big, muscular, artistic arms around me and the death bat logo in my face.

His body heat was emanating towards me and I felt so secure. I looked up at his face to see him staring down at me, sleepily.

“Good morning,” he mumbled. “Did you sleep well?”

I smiled and nodded before breaking his tight hold on me and stretching.

“For how long were you watching me?” I asked in a playful tone with a seductive smile that stretched from ear-to-ear.

“For a little while now – you’re so cute when you sleep.” He grinned.

I smiled, bringing my hands up to his face and cupping his cheeks. As I looked into his eyes I could see the hurt he felt.

My phone started vibrating in my coat pocket. I got up out of the bed. I felt a sudden chill hit my body and I realised I was still in my underwear. My priority changed from finding my phone to finding some clothes.

Matt sniggered. “You don’t have to be shy you know.”

I ignored his comment and found my dress, pulling it over my head.

I managed to reach my phone just in time.

“Hello Sarah.” I said, displaying my annoyance through my tone.

“Eeh hello. Where have you been all night?” She questioned. I could tell by her sarcastic character that she knew exactly where I had been and exactly what I had been doing.

“What do you mean?” I asked Sarah innocently. I turned to Matt, smirked and rolled my eyes.

“It doesn’t matter. With all the…fun… you’ve been having did you forget that it is Jenna’s surprise eighteenth party tonight? We are supposed to meet her mum and the venue to help set up at eleven!”

“Shit, I completely forgot!” I proclaimed and looked at the clock on Matt’s side of the bed.

“Well, are you coming or shall I just meet you there tonight?”

“No! I’m on my way!” I insisted.

“I have a date for tonight by the way. He’s helping set up this afternoon. Why don’t you bring someone along with you too?” I knew exactly what she was getting at.

“Well, I don’t know who I could bring.” I said sarcastically. “I guess I could call Matt up and see if he wanted to come.”   I glanced over at Matt who was looking at me with a confused look on his face.

“Okay, I hope he can make it!” Sarah retorted, equally as sarcastic as my previous comment had been.

“See you in a half an hour then, bye.”

I hung up on Sarah and turned to Matt.

“Who was that?” He asked me flatly.

“Sarah – my friend from the meet and greet. She was calling to remind me about another friends surprise party tonight; I’m supposed to help set up this afternoon. I can bring someone with me. Do you want to come?”

Matt immediately smiled and nodded before patting the bed and motioning me over. I sat on the side and grabbed him by the hand, pulling him up. I gave him his clothes and he proceeded to get dressed.

“Is it okay if we go to my apartment for like five minutes? I want to get changed.”

Matt nodded. “Sure, I’ll drive.”

I stood by the door as Matt grabbed his keys. We exited the hotel room, pulling the door shut behind us.

Taking hold of my hand, Matt interlaced his fingers between mine and we got into the elevator.

Already standing in there was a teenager who recognised Matt immediately.

She was wearing skinny black jeans and a red and black plaid shirt. She wore her eyeliner heavy and her hair was dyed jet black. She reminded me of Jenna.

“Oh My God! No Way! It’s you!”

“It’s me.” Matt retorted to his fan.

“You did an awesome show the other night man; it was the best one yet!”

“Thanks, it was the best one yet” Matt responded, turned and smiled at me.

The elevator reached the ground floor and we stepped out into the hotel lobby.

Matt said goodbye to the fan and steered me in the direction of the car park.

Once inside the car, Matt turned the radio on and blasted “The Catalyst” by Linkin Park. We both started singing aloud together.

“And when I close my eyes tonight

To symphonies of blinding light.”

At this moment I felt so connected to him. I could feel myself falling for him. I couldn’t help but ask myself, is this too soon? I shrugged away the thought.

“What are you thinking about?” Matt asked curiously. “I can tell something is troubling you. You’re furrowing your eyebrows.”

“Oh, nothing.” I sang.

Matt looked at me in disbelief.

“Fine, but I will get it out of you later. Anyway, which way to your apartment?”

I gave him the directions and within five minutes, we were there.

I sat Matt down in the living room and rushed into my own room where I picked out an outfit.

I hurried out and grabbed Matt by the arm. I locked the door; we ran down stairs and got back into his car.

“Okay, where next?” Matt asked. I gave him the directions to the venue and we began our journey.

“Will you tell me now?”

“Tell you what?” I questioned him.

“What you were thinking about before.”

I sighed, “oh Matt, it’s nothing.”

“Well, if it’s troubling you then it is something.”

“Okay, I’ll tell you. But I want you to know that it’s okay for you not to have the same feelings. I mean, I know that we’ve only known each other for a few days.”

“Out with it!” Matt impatiently interjected.

“I think I’m falling for you.” I said bluntly.

Matt looked stunned. After about a minute of silence he said, “I always have been a strong believer in love-at-first-sight.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Matt just smiled and shook his head.

“Tell me!” I demanded.

“Charlotte, calm down. If you think about it then I’m sure you’ll realise what I meant.”
