First days are always scary aren't they? Isn't it normal to feel uneasy and anxious? Don't all student feel giddy when they first step into a new school and have to get to know it? Mae thought to herself while walking down the hallway with her brother and his best friend. She always had a struggle with adjusting to a new environment and really hoped that she would find friends fast. In the morning the three were brought to school by Chanjuan before the older girl met up with her boyfriend and left the friends alone. Now they were on their way to their lockers and then get to class.

"Are you guys excited for your first class at college? I can still remember my first day here." Chenle stuffed some books into his bag and swung it over his shoulder.

"Of course, what do you think idiot? I finally get to follow my dreams and become a professional visual artist." Mae opened her locker and began organizing her supplies.

"I agree, it took us some time to convince mum and dad to let us apply for DREAM college and I'm super stoked to see what this place has for me." Jisung nodded.

"I love the enthusiasm you have hehe, let's have fun and enjoy this experience to its fullest." Chenle smiled at the youngsters and gave both an encouraging pat on the shoulder.

"Thanks, we will." the twins smiled at their friend.

The bell rang, signalling the start of school and Mae said goodbye to the two. She ran quickly to her first period which was English, she really didn't want to be late on her first day so she moved as quickly as possible.

Mae found the classroom where supposedly she had to be and quietly slipped in with the other students. A spare seat could be found next to a brown-haired girl wearing a black sweater, so she sat down and put her bag next to the chair. Her seatmate looked up from the book she was reading and gave Mae a soft smile.

"Hi, uhm I can sit here right?" Mae asked mumbling, she hated starting conversations but the girl seemed nice and she really wanted to make some friends at the college. Her hands were shaking, she tried to hide it by pushing them into her pockets but it was too late.

"Hey of course you can, I'm Lee Jumi and nice to meet you new friend." Jumi chuckled at the other girl's nervousness. "Also don't be scared of me, I'm friendly I swear."

"Sorry I'm not quite gifted in social skills I guess but nice to meet you too, Jumi. My name is Park Jimae, you can call me Mae." Mae pulled out a notebook and her pencil case.

"That's not a big problem, not everyone is a chatting box like Haechan-oppa. For real he could talk for hours and would get tired. Sometimes I really ask myself how Jeno is friend with him." Jumi said smiling and flipped a page to continue reading.

"Whose that?" Mae asked curious.

"Just a friend of my older brother, you'll meet them soon enough I think." Jumi answered and began unpacking her bag.

"Oh okay..." Mae couldn't asked any further questions as the teacher stepped in at that moment and clapped his hands to get the students' attention."

"Good morning class, my name is Mr Suh and I will be your English teacher for this year. Welcome to DREAM college freshmen!" the teacher introduced himself to the class and settled down at the front desk while taking attendance.

After he was finished, he started testing the class on their skills so he could know what to prepare for the upcoming lessons and then continued to do a quick quiz round so the students would have a chance to get to know each other. They had a lot of fun working together and the class soon got closer and more comfortable with each other.
