~Angel~

Well... I wasn't expecting her to react like that. She accepted it so quickly. Suddenly, she pulled away from the kiss and backed up. Her eyes were wide and her mouth was gaping. Maybe I spoke too soon.

"You're an... angel. You're an angel. Oh my gosh. Oh my..." She moved farther away from me.

"Annabel..." I started walking slowly towards her and I stopped when her face flashed with fear.

A tear slipped down her face. Before I could comprehend what was wrong, she opened my door and ran out.

"Annabel wait! Please! Let me explain!" I dashed after her and cursed lowly as my wings banged into everything in their path.

I nearly ran into her when I reached the bottom of the stairs. She was looking at the front door as Chapin and Cilix walked in.

"For heaven's sake brother! You could of spared the hallway! And dear me, she's shaking like a leaf. What have you done?" Chapin scolded me and took Annabel's hand, pulling her upstairs into her bedroom and shutting the door.

Cilix awkwardly scratched the back of his head. He gave me a questioning look and I returned the favor.

"Dude, what did you do? And why are your wings out?" I glared at him before my wings folded into my back and the skin flattened over my scars.

"I scared her..." I trailed off as I sat down and slumped over.

My friends sat there with me until Caspian broke the silence.

"Well good going, dumbass!" The guys all snickered and I stood up, giving them death glares.

They didn't know what was coming.

~Annabel~

I rubbed my hands up and down his chest. God, his abs were amazing. He deepened the kiss and our tongues fought for dominance. He won of course. His wings brushed my back and my eyes flew open. What the hell am I doing? I finally realized he wasn't human. And I panicked. I ran out the door and he was chasing me through the hallway and down the stairs until I stopped. His sister was walking through the door with a rather hot guy. But not as hot as Angel.

Before I knew it, she was scolding Angel and pulling me into a bedroom before shutting the door. She led me to her bed and sat us down.

"So... I see the big secret's out. You didn't take it too well, did you?" She chuckled a little at my face.

"Um..." The truth was, I wasn't too sure. At first I was happy about it but then I don't know...I'm seriously bipolar.

"It's ok. He would never, ever hurt you. His soul purpose is to protect you at all costs. And I don't know... I think he lovvesss you." She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively and I giggled.

Being around his sister made me feel better. She smiled and stood up, motioning her head to the door.

"Ready?" I nodded and got up, following her out the door.

When we got downstairs, Chapin and I watched as Jacques and Rayne were running away from a furious Angel and Cassius and Caspian were laying in a big heap on the floor. Cilix was slowly inching towards the door, trying to stay out of sight. We started laughing and they all stopped and looked at us. Except for Angel. He tensed and looked down at the floor. Chapin nudged my shoulder and silently told me to go to him. The boys followed her upstairs and I was left alone with him.

After a few awkward minutes, I slowly walked to him. His back was facing me and I went to touch his shoulder, but he stepped away.

"Angel...." I proceeded towards him but each time I'd take a step, he'd take a step away.

"I made you cry Annabel..." He faced me and his eyes shown hurt.

"No. It wasn't your fault. It's just my anxie-" he cut me off by turning around and walking towards me until we were an inch apart.

"Don't you see? It is my fault! I should of never done that... Of course you would be scared!" I cupped his cheek and he closed his eyes.

"I wasn't scared..." I whispered to him.

His eyes slowly opened and he gave me a confused look.

"Y-you weren't? But you looked terrified. You looked as if-" I cut him off by gently laying my head on his chest and pulling him against me.

"Some things aren't as they seem. I'm a messed up girl. I have a lot of problems. Anxiety being one of them. It's a natural thing. Sometimes, I can never control my emotions." He pulled me away from him and looked into my eyes.

"Do you trust me?" I was taken aback by his question.

"Of course I do... Why?" He gave me a small smile before taking my hand and pulling me to the door.

I realized that my high heels have fallen off while I was running down the hallway. There was no way I was going outside barefoot.

"Um Angel? I need shoes..." He chuckled.

"Hang on. Chapin! She needs clothes!" My eyes bulged out of their sockets.

"What?! I swear if you guys did anything down there I'm gonna have your ass! What did you do? Rip her dress off of her??" I full out laughed at her reply.

"No stupid. She's not exactly in comfortable clothing." She looked me up and down before pulling me back up to her bedroom.

"You look about my size. Here, put this on." She handed me a pair of black skinny jeans, converse, a batman shirt, and some socks.

She definitely had my style down. After I changed in the bathroom, she pushed me towards the stairs and I walked down to the front door. Angel had a shirt and sweatshirt on to my dismay. He changed into a pair of Levi's that hung dangerously low on his hips and some converse.

"Ready to go?" He smiled.

"Yes, but where are we going?" I really didn't like secrets.

"That's a secret." He walked over to Chapin and kissed her cheek before pulling me out the door.

I felt jealous. Why? I don't know. I still couldn't understand my feelings. Angel walked behind me and leaned in close to my ear.

"Relax sweetheart, she's just my sister." He chuckled and opened the passenger door of his car for me to get in.

After I got in, he slid across the hood and got in the driver's side before starting the car and pulling out of the driveway. I checked my phone to see it was only eight. Ok good. That means I had another four hours until I had to be home.

'Whatcha thinking about Bel?' Angel was talking in my head but his lips didn't move.

"Get out of my head!" He started laughing and I swear, it was the most amazing laugh I've ever heard.

"Sorry. It's hard to resist." After that, we didn't talk.

I watched out the window as the sun was setting behind the woods we passed. It was beautiful. I hardly noticed that the car stopped until Angel opened the passenger door and leaned down at eye level.

"We're here." I turned my head to look through the windshield but he pulled it back.

"Close your eyes." My glare earned a smirk but I listened to him anyways.

I squealed as he lifted me bridal style into his arms and shut the door. I leaned my head against his chest and peeked out of my left eye. He was looking straight at me.

"No peeking." He play scolded and I closed my eyes tight and silently laughed into his sweatshirt.

He set me down on my feet and put his hands on my waist, steering me straight. We stopped and his hands lingered before we slowly pulled away.

"You can open your eyes now." I slowly opened them and the sight before we was breathtaking.

We were on a hill that showed a view of the city. The twinkling lights contrasted with the stars of the night sky and the full moon shown high up above. I've never seen anything like it. It was nothing like Colorado's cold dark nights.

"Do you like it?" Angel whispered in my ear and laid his chin on my shoulder. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I leaned against his chest.

"I love it. It's amazing." He spun me around.

"We have a lot to talk about, Bel." I nodded in agreement.

He pulled me towards a blanket that I didn't even notice was sitting there and we laid down together. We looked up at the stars and laid in a comfortable silence until I finally broke it.

"Angel..." I glanced over and he was already looking at me.

"That's not my real name. It's just a nickname. My name's Rizoel. It isn't a name you'd hear at all, so I chose a more inconspicuous name." I was surprised to say the least.

"What's it mean?" My curiosity got the best of me.

He sighed before saying "Do you believe in demons, Annabel?" I chuckled.

"Well, I didn't believe in angels, and look where that got me. So.... I suppose I do." He sent me a tiny smirk before looking back up at the sky.

"It means thwarter of demons. Or in other words; to stop demons." My eyes lingered on his face before I looked back up at the sky.

His face contorted in pain. Then he turned to face me. I did the same and we locked eyes.

"The night your mother died, I was at your window for a reason. It wasn't some creepy stalker thing either. It was so much different than that." He looked like he was struggling for the words before he spoke again.

"Your mother's death wasn't an accident, Annabel."
