~Fast forward, Izuku is now ten years old~
Over the course of the next few years the green haired boy moved on from collecting random items and began to collect things that iInterested him instead. At nine he found a collection of books on engineering and computer science which had led to a rather large accumulation of computer parts and other bits of miscellaneous tech. That pile had later become what the boy liked to call his "Super-Awesome-Frankenstein-Computer", dubbed thus after his initial reaction of "It's alive!" when his "Computer" flickered to life.
A series of screens, each of different size, had been fixed together with pieces of wiring and metal. This creation had become the boy's connection to the outside world, and he was definitely not happy with what he learned.
The boy's isolated life had hidden him from most of the world's horrors, what he knew was either from first hand experience, children's books, or bland factual textbooks. So naturally he was quite shocked by the state of the society he had left.
Accustomed to spending hours reading boring books in order to learn information, the green haired boy quickly took to reading as many news articles, social media posts, and other forms of information on the outside world as he possibly could. Because as much as he wouldn't admit it, somewhere deep inside of him, the abandoned kid still missed the life he had had. And his curiosity had never been something he could stop.
The boy's analytical mind was able to sort the various amounts of information he was reading and understand when an author was not telling the truth or not being factual. This skill was quite useful in his realization that the majority of Pro-Hero's in society were only in it for the money and fame.
He was able to read between the lines of the plastic smiles and sappy quotes gushing about: "how much joy it was to help save people". His greatest disappointment though was the realization that All Might really wasn't as great of a hero as he had thought him to be. This let down was soon replaced however, when he found a video clip of an incredibly tired looking man scowling at reporters and telling them to "shut up" and "leave me alone" in a grumpy voice.
Needless to say the boy's interest was roused and he fell back into his old habit of profiling hero's and their quirks. Only now he was much older, had a giant "computer", and his query had basically no information about him online. Nevertheless, the boy took this as an indirect challenge and instead used another skill he had gained while building his computer: hacking.
Immediately getting to work on hacking after having blocked off any possible camera's and locating devices on his computer with large amounts of code, the boy began hacking into the Hero Commission. To say it was easy would be an understatement, granted, the boy was much smarter than the average person, but it still only took him a couple of hours.
After some time searching through the files of multiple different heroes, the boy finally found his query: Eraserhead, also known by his real name, Shota Aizawa.
Needless to say a victory dance ensued as well as rapid muttering and the retrieving of a notebook. The boy's love of quirks had never truly left. He began jotting down the information provided and then added his own insight and questions as well. Soon however, he came to a stop. Any footage he could find on Eraserhead was blurry and not of the best quality, and although the boy was still able to gain a nice amount of information on Eraserhead's fighting style, it wasn't enough for the curious boy.
He knew that Quirkless people were treated horribly by society, but he had just found a Hero, (underground, but still), who made fights into quirkless ones using his own ability to erase other peoples quirks. To the jaded child, this was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy world, and he latched onto it without the intention of letting go.
That night the boy fell asleep with a new goal in mind: venturing out of the piles of trash to meet his idol.
Extra:
Somewhere hidden in a pile of trash a shrill voice can be heard: "Wait a minute... People do not actually talk this fast!?"
