A year later...

"Get away from me!" I shouted to the girl who has been attempting to touch me for the hundredth time.

"Come on, Babe," she pleads and I glared at her as I finished my sixth or tenth drink... I don't know.

"You lunatic, let me go!" I pulled her away and stood up, causing her to fall to the ground.

"Jerk!" she remarked and smacked me as she rose and walks away with her bag, leaving me in the VIP area.

"Slut." I muttered under my breath as I poured myself another drink.

"Alejandro!" Nesta rushed to me.

Could it be because I'm drunk or I'm getting dizzy?

"You need to quit drinking, Alejandro." She said, and I immediately recognized her voice.

My Camila, my Angel.

"You're back, Camila," I murmured, looking at her. Everything went black all of a sudden, yet all I could see in my head was my Camila smiling at me...

I opened my eyes and suddenly a bright light hits my face and I groaned.

"Babe, you're awake." I heard a familiar voice say, and I turned my head and saw Nesta.

"What are you doing here?" I was annoyed and massaged my temples.

"Babe, don't you remember I took you home last night?" She said, and I groaned furiously.

"Nesta, as I said, I don't need you to bring me home every night," I said and stood up and she walked over to me and hugged me.

I stared at her stunned and it felt weird. I pushed her away and she looked at me shocked.

"Nesta leave!" I said, and she looked at me furiously.

"Fine!" She says and grabs her purse, and stormed out of my room, leaving the door with a harsh bang.

I sighed and sat on the couch and saw there was some water and medicine placed for me.

I took the water and the medicine and drank it. I looked at the chart of my schedule that Dante leaves every morning.

Today I had a meeting with some people, people I hired to investigate the night of the fire. I've been searching for clues all year but still have not found one.

But, for the time being, I continue to hope that I will be able to bring my angel to justice...

I sighed and quickly stood up and went to the bathroom.

This day will be like the others as always...

"how many times I've told you to keep looking!"

I yelled angrily at my men.

"Mr. Huxley," my secretary, Liane, I gave her a cold stare.

"Not right now, can't you tell I'm preoccupied?" "Mr. Pietro and Maria Huxley are here," I yelled, and she swiftly approached me and whispered that Madre and Padre were here

With a groan, I walked out of the conference and into my office.

"Alejandro." Madre embraced me with a hug.

"To what do I owe Madre and Padre this visit?" I spoke to my father and shook his hand.

"I heard the investigation regarding Camila is still ongoing?" I nodded in response to what he said.

"Why are you going to tell me to shut it down because it's absurd?" I sat down after saying that.

"No, but you lose hope, Alejandro? Camila might have died. We looked into it several times, and they always said, It was a subordinate fire, no one caused it." I sighed as my father explained.

"Padre, I love Camila, and believe me, if you ask me, I'll never lose hope..." Madre stared at me with tears in her eyes as I stated that.

I embraced her and she whispered, "We understand."

"We, too, miss Camila, son." My father says to me and pats my back, and I nod.

"We're throwing a party at the residence. We were hoping you'd show up. I understand your schedule is hectic, but- "He says, and I interrupt him.

"I'll be there," I assured him, and he smiled.

"So that was the end of it. Son, I'll see you later." I nodded as my father spoke.

I bid farewell to them and they did the same for me. They exited my office, and as always, I was left alone.

Who would someone do such a thing to Camila? What's more troublesome to accept is that they didn't discover anyone.

I cleared my thoughts and returned to the conference room with a sigh.

It's been years since the building caught fire, but I've never given up faith. I assure Camila that I would do all in my ability to ensure that she is treated fairly; I love her and only her.

The week she died was the most problematic week of my life. I stayed at home for days, drinking and not sleeping. Xavier, Dante, or Nesta would periodically pick me up from the bar. When I lost Camila, it seemed as if I had lost my entire universe. Why was she left to die?

I've had unanswered queries up until now. All I've wanted are conclusions, and I haven't had a single one until now.

"Mr. Huxley, at 6 p.m. you have an event to attend at the Huxley residence." My secretary acquainted me and I nodded, I wasn't in the mood to party, but this is the only thing I could do for Madre and Padre. I know they've been stressed out over me.

I nodded as Dante remarked, "We are here now, Mr. Huxley."

I stepped out of the limousine and was met by an elegant red carpet pathway; I entered the residence and noticed a large gathering; I moved through the crowd and sat in the lounge with my parents.

"I'm happy you showed up, son," I nodded and embraced Padre when he welcomed me...

He chuckled as I stated, "I would never back down from my word."

"We've invited a special visitor to join us." I looked around to see Valentino approaching us, and my father spoke. What specifically was he doing here?

"Padre, Madre," He extended a handshake and greeted them.

"Valentino, I'm glad you made it on such short notice," Padre said, and he grinned.

"I heard what happened, Alejandro. It's such a tragedy." I looked at him, skeptical, as he spoke, giving prominence to the word tragedy in my face.

"Shut up Valentino!" I said, and he snickered and sneered.

"Why don't you seem displeased about Camila's death?" I asked curiously and he looked at me weirdly.

"Alejandro, Non piango mai, ma devo dire che amavo molto tua moglie." He said and I sauntered past him, infuriated.

(Translation: I never cry, but I must say I adored your wife.)

Why am I so convinced that Valentino is somehow sophisticated in this occurrence?
