Maria grumbles as Regulus wakes her on December 28th, her eyes squeezing shut and he sighs with a small eye roll, kissing her neck softly and she relaxes her eyes, a deep breath escaping her lips and he pulls away.

"No. . .keep doing that." She mumbles, pulling his face back down to her neck which he kisses gently.

"It's like three in the afternoon and we have to get to the Weasleys soon." Regulus mumbles against her neck, smirking cheekily as he sucks on that sweet spot just below her ear that makes a hoarse, quiet moan crawl up her throat.

"Just. . .ten minutes." Maria mutters, pulling him on top of her and he sighs, lying with his head on her boobs making her sigh at his actions.

"What? Can I not at least be comfortable?" Regulus whispers yet she can practically hear his smug smirk as she reaches to run her hands through his messy hair softly, her nails scratching at his scalp and his fingers caress her sides.

"I love you. . .I don't say it as much as you do." Maria whispers and he smiles at her words, kissing her chest before going back to his original position.

"I know you do." Regulus whispers, thinking about the things he knows she would do. She'd let him lead her to her ultimate death if it meant he made it out alive. But then again, he would do the same.

"Whatever happens—at all. . .I always will." Maria sniffles and Regulus frowns, looking up and seeing tears in her eyes and he shakes his head, sitting her up against the headboard and lifting her legs over each of his so they're either side of his waist.

"Hey—you're gonna be okay." Regulus whispers, reaching out and wiping the tears dripping down her cheek with the pad of his thumb softly. "I'll always love you—I can't love anyone else." He smiles sadly at her. "Let me go and get you some tea."

"Promise you'll come back." She smiles and he chuckles, kissing her forehead.

"I always do."

Maria sighs when she's left alone in her bedroom, wiping beneath her eyes with her hands and shaking her head, leaning it against the headboard. Regulus re-enters the room with two mugs of tea in his hands and hands one to Maria who smiles gratefully.

"What's the matter, Ria?" Regulus whispers and she sighs, sipping the hot tea.

"Well. . .I'm not pregnant—obviously, I'm not on my period. . .so I'm just sad." She huffs, closing her eyes for a few seconds. "And tired."

"How did you. . .how did you know that you couldn't. . ?"

"What? Have children?" Maria asks and he nods softly. "I suppose it was because I stopped having my period, the nurses at St Mungos just said it was because I couldn't. It's actually in my genes, half the Potter women had to use magic to have their own child. They said it would be a miracle if I could without it."
