I tugged a little on the hemp of my black dress. I sighed, slipping on red stilettos and headed for the full length mirror that was located in the bathroom. I twirled myself around, observing the way the dress showed off my curves.
I wasn't much for going out and partying, maybe because I never really did it in my teen years.
I exited the bathroom, running my hands through my long blonde hair when Lauren cleared her throat. I glanced over at her. She was slowly twirling herself around so I could get a good look at her outfit. She was wearing a black pencil skirt that hugged her curves and a white crop top with black lace. I smiled. "You look great," I said.
"Do you think Slim will like it?"
I laughed. "If he's into you, he'll like it. Trust me."
She smiled, satisfied with my answer. She quickly slipped on her black heels and sighed. "Have you heard from them yet?"
"Slim messaged me awhile ago. He gave me the address to the club and what time they're gonna be there." I glanced over at the digital clock on the wall. It read 10:23PM. "We should probably get going. We don't know how long it's gonna take us to get there."
"Uber?" She asked. I nodded. She picked up her phone from the nightstand, where it was charging, and began finding us a driver.
I glanced back to the mirror in the bedroom, grimacing. "Do I look okay?" I asked suddenly.
Lauren looked up at me from her phone, her eyebrows raised. "Why do you ask?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. I just - I feel..." I didn't know how I felt. I couldn't necessary put it into words.
"Do you feel uncomfortable?"
I shook my head.
"Well, do you wanna change?"
I shook my head again.
With the reflection of the mirror, I could see her smiling. "What?" I asked, confused.
"You're nervous," she said simply. She turned her attention back to her phone.
I looked back into the mirror, studying myself. Nervous? For what? I had been to a million and one clubs before. Why would tonight be any different?
I let it go, simply because our driver was around the corner from the hotel. We grabbed our belongings and headed downstairs to the lobby. By the time we got down there, our driver was waiting for us by the curb. The drive wasn't long - about twenty minutes or so. I was relieved when we pulled up to a dark building, mostly because the car smelled like day old cheese. There was a line of people wrapped around the building; very cliche. Lauren quickly paid the Uber driver as we got out of the car. The breeze tossed my hair around wildly; we walked up to the bouncer, who was leaning against the wall next to the main entrance of the club. His eyebrows arched in surprise as he pushed off the door, clipboard in hand. "Can I help you?" he asked in a deep voice.
"We're meeting friends," Lauren said nicely.
He glanced over to her and nodded. "Name?"
She quickly glanced to me and I shrugged. I honestly had no idea whose name it could be under. At that very moment a tall familiar figure walked out of the club with a shorter male. His blonde hair was pulled back in a bun; he was wearing all black - a plain black shirt with some black, ripped jeans and a pair of Chucks. Even with how simple the look was, he looked extremely attractive. The screaming of a few girls in line awoke me from my little daydream.
"Hey!" I yelled over the screams to him. He glanced back lazily until his eyes met mine. His face brightened slightly as he began to walk over to us. The shorter blonde next to him followed. As he finally approached, Kells nudged the bouncer, smiling. "Waddup man? They're with me."
