When I woke up the next morning, I smelled a strong smell of sunscreen wafting from the living room. I walked towards the smell to see my mom rubbing sunscreen all over my sister's back.
"We're going to go out on the beach for a while. Want to come?" asked my mom.
"I think I'm gonna try and see if Olivia and Peyton are home, sorry."
"That's alright. Just remember, don't go too deep in the waves and don't forget sunscreen, K?" said my mother.
"Yeah ok" I replied. "I'll be back by five. Can I have some money for lunch at the beach?"
"There's twenty dollars in my purse in my room that you can have if you like." my mom said.
"Hey! Not fair I want twenty dollars! She always gets more!" complained my little sister Kelsey.
"She's older." my mom reassured.
"Whatever I'll be back later bye." I said and then I was out the door. A cool breeze hit me and blew my hair into my eyes.
I walked a little along the beach until I came across Olivia's house. Her house was closest to mine, so I usually came to her house first.
The stairs to her front porch were sandy and a little bit slippery. I walked up them carefully and then rang their doorbell.
I was excited to see Olivia. I hadn't seen her since last summer and...
"Hello? KENDALL!" Olivia ran through the door and gave me a tight hug. I hugged her back and we started talking about all the things that happened since last summer.
"I don't have a swim suit on, could I borrow one of yours?" I asked.
"Yeah of course!" said Olivia. "I got a super cute one that makes my boobs look great. Just saying. You can wear it if you want?"
"You wear it, I'll wear...hmm do you still have that amazing pink one from last summer? I love that one!" I said.
"I think I brought it, come inside we can look." she said.
We walked into her beach house and I saw her older brother and her mom in the kitchen. Her house was almost the same as mine, it has the same floor plan.
"Kendall! We've missed having you here how have you been!?" said her mom giving me a hug.
"Great! How about you, Mrs. Carter?"
"I've been great also!" she replied with her usual happy, positive tone of voice.
Olivia then led me down the hallway to her room and we walked inside.
Her room looked the same as the last time I'd seen it. Except this time, there was a picture of a boy hanging on her bulletin board.
"Who's that?" I asked.
"He's just, ok promise you won't tell?"
"I promise."
"So you know the boy that lives a little down the beach, well we met him at a party last summer. We stared talking I guess, and I've been crushing on him all year." Olivia said.
"So he like, have you his number? And you guys talk?" I asked.
"Yeah pretty much." she said.
Olivia dug through her drawers until she found that pink bikini that I love.
"Change into this and I'll wear my new one." she said.
I slid off my high wasted shorts and tank top and then put on the bikini. I liked how it looked even more now that I've grown, and I have a better figure.
Olivia's new bikini was small, really small, but cute.
"Ready to go?" she asked.
"Yep." I said.
