"HEY, banksie!" a voice bloomed through the hallways of minnesota middle school. eliza's eyebrows had furrowed, whipping her head around to see charlie conway barreling towards her. her eyes had widen, turning her head around to face the floor. "what do you want, conway." she grumbled as she felt an arm wrap around her shoulders, causing her face to cringe. "get off of me, you pig." she shrugged him off.

he sent her a playful offended face, a gasp escaping his lips. she looked over at him to see his hand on his heart, staring at her in sadness. "calm down, banksie. no need to bring my family into this." he smiled down at her, causing her to smack his arm. "shut up. now, go away." she spat at the conway boy, before racing down the hallway. "wha- no." was the last thing she heard from the conway boy, before feeling arms wrap around her waist, pulling her into an empty classroom. she let out a shriek of fear, kicking her feet in the air from his action. "let me down!"

charlie's laughter erupted through the air, causing her to simply roll her eyes as her feet met the ground once again. "why are you being so rude, blondie?" he smirked down at her. she whipped around to face at him, glaring up into his green eyes. charlie just crossed his arm, with a stupid, smug grin plastered on his face. "this is kidnapping." she snarled up at him, turning herself around on her heel.

she quickly got twirled back around, facing the brunette boy. "what is your obsession with me today?" she hummed towards him, yanking her hand from his own. charlie propped himself up on a desk, staring at the female. "oh, you know, just wanted to see how my favourite rival is doing." he winked, causing eliza to stare at him in disgust. "get a life, conway." she whispered, leaning towards him a little, before copying his wink. she turned herself back around, once again, strutting herself out of the empty classroom.

charlie was left with a big smirk on his face, quickly following the female. the rest of the day, was shared with awkward glances, and smug grins from the conway boy, and banks girl. quickly, the last period of the day came. it was a relief to eliza. all she wanted to do, was go home, and sleep. of course, she had hockey practice right after school. but, then after, she'd sleep.

eliza listened as her science teacher went on, and on about the whole idea of the science project she had planned on doing. telling the students about how it'd be a partner-project. elizabeth honestly didn't mind having a partner. she'd usually make her partner do all the work, while she occasionally helped.

as far as eliza could hear from the teacher, she started assigning the partners to one another. elizabeth didn't really care who she'd be partnered with, only hoping it was someone she actually liked. she fiddled with her fingers as she listened to the older woman yell out names through the classroom.

once the woman slowly came to the end of the list, eliza's name still not being called, her eyes had dragged up to a set of emerald greens she felt set on her. the two rivals immediately made eye contact, sending glares to one another, but maintaining the eye contact. only for their eyes, to be torn away by the sound of both of their names being mentioned at once.

"charlie conway, and elizabeth banks." their teacher shouted towards the two, causing their eyes to widen. they sat there frozen, mouths slightly agaped as they listened to the students send faint whispers to one another. the two turned back together once again, the same shocked looks plastered on their faces. eliza slightly turned her head, putting her hand to cover the side of her face, for charlie not to see. her brain filled with horrible thoughts, thinking of everything that could go wrong in the time they'd have to spend together, over a stupid school project.

the rest of the banks girls time stuck in the classroom for the past thirty minutes was hell, eliza could describe in the best way. she only felt the eyes of charlie conway on her the entire time, and didn't know why the creep kept staring at her. the only time she'd return his eye contact, was with a nasty glare. he'd only quickly return it, as soon as he noticed her catching his stare. suddenly, the bell had rung in the middle of their death glares to one another, causing them to shoot up from their seats immediately, fast pace walking towards their teacher.

charlie was the first to make it, showing his charming ways at the female to switch partners. while eliza just stared at him in disgust. the female listened as he struggled to convince the older woman to switch, only to fail as she shot the boy down multiple times, finally having enough of it by throwing the two teenagers out. eliza let out an annoyed huff, turning to charlie and quickly hitting him in the back of the head. "you are useless." she snarled at the brunette, causing him to scoff.

she quickly stomped away, walking to her locker so she could get the hell out of that school for the day. "listen, banks. i tried, but clearly failed. so you'll have to suck it up, blondie." charlie sent her a fake smile, leaning against the locker beside her. she only rolled her eyes, ignoring the boy. he kept trying to get her attention, nagging her on. "conway, i seriously have to go. i don't have time for your pathetic attempts on trying to get my attention. meet me at the front of the town library tomorrow at noon." she snapped at the boy, swiftly turning herself around.

the conway boy stood there in shock, letting out a small scoff, before rushing himself to his own locker. eliza made her way out to her fathers car, not saying a word to him or her brother. they only shared blank glances, before her father made his own way to the ice rink. she was thankful she had hockey practice. it was a way for her to take her anger out, that she quickly piled up in her body after that class with charlie.

the faint music of her fathers classical music played through the car as they drove past the frozen lake of minnesotas small park. she m noticed a group of teenagers she loathed. her and adam made eye contact through the rear view mirror, before turning their attentions back to the group of teens, flailing around the ice like ducks. her father let out a snarky laugh, seeing the team. "look at how stupid they look. thank god you won't ever be on a team like that. the banks name would go down to in the gutter, if you two ever joined people like that." her father offended, glaring at the teens he faced, out towards his car window.

eliza only rolled her eyes at her fathers statement, crossing her arms as she caught sight of one boy. he had seemed to be ranting on and on about something, throwing his hands up in the air as his team objected things from something he had said. he had a deep blush on his face, sending small glares at his friends. eliza's eyebrows had furrowed, staring at the group in confusion. 'what were they talking about?' she thought. the group quickly went out of her sight as they drove past, causing her to look down at her hands, fiddling with her fingers.

the only thing on the females mind, was the fact tomorrow afternoon, she was meeting with her rival, over a stupid science project.
