Chapter 5: She wants him back.

It was the day for their big performance, which would make history for the boys they will be performing in the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics. As a supportive and loyal girlfriend, I made sure I had my camera ready, and I even wore some studded earrings with the British flag design. On our way there we met with all the boys families so we could talk down their nerves and everyone could get into their seats without any chaos. Throughout the whole way all the boys started getting even more nervous as moment passed by. Zayn was so nervous at one point that Perrie had him borrow her hat that she used from a music video she had just done with her band Little Mix. Meanwhile, Eleanor kept giving Louis tea, but instead it made him run to the bathroom a couple of times. Niall just kept eating and playing the guitar after his parents left to their seats. Harry went out with his mom to wonder around the venue, and meet some of the greatest athletes. While Liam, talked with his family, and then as they left as well to find their seats, I stayed with him. We stood next to each other as we saw the place so filled of fans  of all around the world and staff running in and out the hallways. I rubbed my hand against his as I reminded him “Babe you’re going to do great, you all will be great”. Liam looked at me in the eyes a little worried “What if I forget the words, you know it has happened to me before”. As he turned to face me completely I ran my hand through the top of his head as I felt the little bit of hair he had growing back from his shaved haircut “You won’t. I trust you, you got this!.”  He hugged me as he pulled me back and gave me a little peck on the lips, and then bring me back up. Then his eyes caught glimpse of something and he just stared. “What is it, Liam?” I asked as his reaction caught my attention. He look back at me and said “Nothing babe, I thought it was one of the lads calling me, but it was no one”. I shook my head as in agreement and it was time for the boys to go out and perform so all the girls and I went to find our seats very quickly. As we all sat there, we were such proud girlfriends. Not only our boys did amazing, they didn’t forget the words, and the fans were completely loud.

After the performance we all went backstage again to congratulate the boys. As we all walked back I saw quite a few back up dancers talking to Liam, and took photos with him and left. Their families were there and they were all mingling. Ruth came by and started a conversation with me “Hi Darlyn, they did so great don’t you think?” she was giggling. “Yes they smashed it. It was amazing.” I agreed with her. We made small talk as I saw Nicola come up to her brother with another girl along with her. Liam didn’t seem please with his sister and he smiled at the girl and  the girl said “Hello, good job out there” and then he looked at his sister again furious. I knew something was wrong instantly I could see it in his deep brown eyes. The girl replied to him in a flirty tone of voice “Thanks, you too, Liam. Sorry we haven’t been able to talk it out.”  As I overheard the conversation since they weren’t so far away from us, and I am not going to lie I was starting to feel a little uncomfortable for him, who was this girl. He said “Thanks, and if you two will excuse me I have to go.” as he walked away from both girls in between them and walked towards me.  I kept acting as normal with Ruth like I hadn’t seen or overheard anything and kept talking with her. Suddenly Liam grabs hold of my hand and asks me to come with that he was leaving. He started to walk at fast pace almost pulling me along with him quite rushed like it was an emergency. Ruth followed said goodbye to Liam and then we both got in the limo as it pulled out and made its way.  On the way home he was so serious and quiet it was so unlike him. Even though were sitting closed together and he had his hand on my leg and my hand on top of his hand with our fingers intertwined. He was acting so indifferent, versus how happy he was from the performance. I knew it had to do something with the conversation prior but I didn’t want to assume anything. “Hey Liam, are you okay baby? You seem kind of eh?..” I asked him. “I’m just a little tired babe, and I have a massive headache that’s killing me. I think it was all of those people screaming in the arena. I mean it was great don’t get me wrong, it’s just a little too much.” as he seem to avoid my question as well as avoiding to make any eye contact with me, but his answer made sense. My eyes kind of gave this I know that’s not true type of look but I just didn’t want to say anything. He seemed to pissed to function, as I gave him his space by letting him to his thoughts until we got home. I rested my head, next to his shoulder leaning in and letting a breath out quite softly.
