"I am, I also didn't know Karl's roommate was a girl, that's cool." He said.
"Yeah, I just wanted to come say hi to you guys, I had fun hanging out last time." I said.
"I'm glad you're here, we made such a great team yesterday!" Wilbur said happily and I agreed.
I got a discord notification and saw that Wilbur had sent a friend request. I accepted it quickly and tuned back into the conversation.
"What do you guys plan to do for Christmas?" I heard Quackity ask.
"Oh god..." I groaned.
Karl realized what I was groaning about and let out a noise of annoyance himself.
"What, what's going on here?" Sapnap asked.
"It's just, every year we take turns going visit our families for Christmas, this year we will have to visit my family." I explained.
"I don't see the issue here?" Wilbur said.
"My family is the worst! My siblings are so annoying and some of them are just straight up rude. My parents also like hate that Karl and I moved in together, it's been like two years and they aren't over it. It's just always a mess. God, I'd give anything to be able to skip it." I finished.
"Damn that's rough, I always just spend Christmas with dream," Sapnap said.
"I'll probably be spending Christmas alone." Wilbur said.
"That sucks, what are you gonna do alone?" I asked.
"Probably nothing, I might stream or something." He said and I shrugged even though he couldn't see me.
"Anyway, what were you guys doing?" I asked, seeing what they were playing.
"Nothing really, we were about to start a skribbl game." Karl said.
"Cool! Can I play?" I asked and they all agreed.
We got onto the game and messed around, I was leading at the end with Wilbur in a close second.
We played a few more rounds after that and then I left to go eat dinner. Which meant Karl left too, since we had to figure something out together.
I went into the kitchen, figuring I'd just make something. Karl came out of his office and hopped up onto the counter.
"What if we go out to eat tonight? I feel like we haven't hung out recently." He said and I nodded happily.
"Yeah! Where do you want to go?"
"We can figure it out in the car." He suggested and I grabbed the keys.
Once we got to a small restaurant in town, we sat at a booth and looked over the menu.
"How would you feel about going visit one of my friends for Christmas?" Karl asked.
"Oh could we? That'd be pretty cool, as long as I don't have to visit my family. Who would we go visit?" I asked.
"My friend corpse said we could go see him..." he trailed off.
"Oh wow! That'd be cool, I've heard some of his music!" I said, Karl had talked about him before, they seemed pretty close. I knew he lived in California.
"Okay cool, I asked if we could go but said we weren't sure, so I'll call him when we get home and finish making plans." I nodded and we continued talking about random things. I felt my phone buzzing a few times, but I didn't check it since I was eating.
When we finished everything, Karl insisted on covering the bill, I'm sure it was his turn anyway, and we drove home blasting music and singing along, I asked him to play corpse's music so I could hear it again and we jammed to never satisfied and cabin fever.
When we got home, I said we should watch a movie and we both settled into the living room, me on the ground and Karl on the couch. I always preferred the floor anyway.
We had to pick a movie and even though it had been a while since our last movie night, I still remembered he picked last time, which meant it was my turn.
I picked Tinkerbell and the pirate fairy because it's a banger. Karl would watch the entire saga of Tinkerbell movies and if he didn't like it he could fight me.
As we watched I switched how I was sitting at least thirty times and made corny jokes at every opportunity, and when Karl laughed I would laugh harder until we were both bent over wheezing and almost crying.
I always loved movie nights and when the movie ended I was so exhausted from laughing that I brushed my teeth and changed my clothes before getting into bed.
I fell asleep almost immediately, I didn't even have time to plug my phone in before I was out like a light.
When I woke up, I still felt tired, because waking up well rested is not a concept I'm familiar with. Despite this, I rolled out of bed and dragged myself into a shower, and then getting ready for the day.
I had a bagel for breakfast and then went into my room to grab my phone. I picked it up only to find it dead. The sigh that ripped out of me was one of utter disappointment and inconvenience. I plugged my phone in and went back into the living room.
I was in a doing stuff kind of mood, I wanted to be out and about, but first my phone had to be charged. I was so antsy that I simply filled time. I started standing against the kitchen island staring at nothing, then I walked a few circles around it probably looking confused, then I sat at a barstool, then I opened the fridge even though I wasn't hungry, then I sat on the couch in the living room for about .2 seconds, and yeah you get it.
Eventually I went into my room and my phone was on about 30 percent battery, not quite enough yet, so I sat on my bed and turned my tv on.
I turned on a random YouTube video, my recommended page is often of Karl's friends, I had no idea who this was though, I wasn't really paying attention to it, mostly letting my mind wander to pass time.
A few videos later, I realized I had been sitting there for about two hours, significantly longer than I thought I had been. I grabbed my phone and it said it was 99 percent charged, exactly my luck, and my perfectionist ass wasn't going to leave it there and so I got up and put my shoes on before turning the car on and doing everything I could possibly do before going back to my phone.
When I checked it again, it was fully charged and I disconnected my charger. I quickly got in the car and drove off, I wasn't quite sure what to do yet, I just wanted to do something.
