"Sarkaz? You mean the devil?"

"Maybe" He affirmed "One thing that puzzled me about Terra is the race. Obviously we have the animal people, but there are also exceptions, like the Sankta"

The boy shrugged. Across from him, his brother's brow scrunched up in confusion

"Of course, since the Sankta is an allusion to modern intepretation of angel due to their background, I am wondering if there is any other reason Sarkaz are called devil"

"Well. They're called that mostly because of their excellent Originum Arts adaptation. As a result of powerful Arts, Infected Sarkaz often sell their service as mercenary to others, leading to their presence in many conflicts and the advent of the name devil"

"Sounds like a certain country in our world"

"Tut tut. Last time some guy tried comparing Lungmen to Hong Kong and it didn't end well. Best not bring politics into this game"

He did read up from some of them before

The Sarkaz seems like the Iron Blood equivalent of Arknights. A race practically born and bred for war, insanely favored by the fanbase for having some of the best waifu in game

"Sounds like they would be reliable bodyguards, though"

"Yup. First thing I'ma do if dropped in Terra is to find a Sarkaz that will protect me. If you get them to follow you for life, all the better!"

"As if that would happen with your look"

He had to force down a laugh at his brother's incensed look

_____________

"A Sarkaz attacked Angelina because of the package she is delivering?"

He eye the steel box in front of him. Streams of unpleasant emotion churned in his stomach. Fear. Panic. Confusion

All of that forcefully drowned out in place of a calm mind as the boy walk away from the window

Is this because of him?

If they hadn't broke into Lungmen, Angelina wouldn't have taken in that job. If that didn't happen, she wouldn't have been attacked

He felt as if he is a butterfly in the middle of the ocean, and every flap of his wing rolled up into hurricanes on the other end of the world

The boy shook his head

What's important right now is to resolve the situation as quick as possible

"You say the Sarkaz use a bowgun as her weapon" He turn to Lappland leaning against the wall "Any detail on what it is?"

"It's an Originum-based items specialized for demolition worker" She sighed "Long reload time, but really high destructive power. Sarkaz usually modify them into improvised work tool to rain death on the battlefield. Really a bitch to deal with if you're a melee fighter"

"Then why haven't this place been bombed down yet?"

"Most likely because of the package" Lappland gestured toward the steel box "The mercenary's objective must have been to retrieve it, so they don't want to cause excessive damage"

The boy closed his eyes and thought for a moment

Concealed position. Advantageous terrain. Priority realized. In a head on confrontation, the chance of victory would be low
