"Can you believe it? The Maldives in three weeks?!" Talia gushed through the phone as Mia poured the milk in her cereal from the comfort of her own flat."I can't believe how quickly Josh organized everything," Mia said, still surprised that they had simply talked about it a few nights before and now everything was hours away from being booked.
"Part of me isn't surprised, that's just Josh for you," Talia laughed, "but also, they've never managed to do it this quickly before so you might just be a good luck charm."
Mia let out a snort, "Talia Mar, are you flirting with me?"
"And what if I am?" Her best friend teased back, causing Mia to roll her eyes.
Talia went on to talk about everything she had heard about the plans for the trip, mostly just things she had overheard some of the boys talk about when she was staying over at Simon and JJ's flat. Josh and a few of the others who had agreed to take on the responsibility of doing a majority of the planning had said they'd give an update soon. All Talia, or anyone else for that matter, knew for sure was the fact that the group had agreed on the Maldives.
"You know, I get that I'm not single but it sure does feel that way considering I'm the only girl not there with her boyfriend." Mia confessed with a sigh in between shoveling spoons of cereal in her mouth.
"Loads of people are going to be single on the trip, what are you on about?"
"I'm the only girl though, you guys are probably going to be off being all lovey dovey with your boyfriends." Mia sighed, cringing at the thought of her sitting alone in a hut on top of the ocean.
"And that's when you can go off drinking with the rest of the boys, why are you acting like that's not what you'd want to do anyways." Talia laughed,
"I mean, that's fair." She agreed, leaning her body towards the counter.
"Do you want Matt there or something?" Talia asked, sympathy laced in her voice. Her sympathy being purely for Mia, and none whatsoever about Matt.
"No, no, nothing like that," Mia laughed softly, knowing that he didn't belong on a group trip considering he wasn't apart of the group, "was just thinking is all."
"Well if you feel really fake-single or whatever, you've always got Harry."
Mia knew without even seeing her that Talia was wiggling her eyebrows on the other side of the line, which only made Mia roll her eyes.
"Also," Mia exclaimed, changing the subject quickly, "The boys are going to be picking up girls left and right, what am I meant to be doing then?"
"What, and you expect me to believe that Harry's going to be picking up girls? When he's in love with you?" Talia giggled at the thought, bringing the conversation right back to Harry.
Mia grumbled a response, probably one resembling some sort of protest, but the cereal currently in her mouth muffled her words. It was clear that Talia was determined to bring every subject straight back to Harry.
"He's not in love with me." Mia mumbled, this time audibly, and clearly displeased.
"No he's not," Talia admitted, but the smugness in her voice was still there, "not yet at least."
"Talia!" Mia exclaimed, partly grateful her friend couldn't see her blushing at the moment .
"Have you talked to him?" She asked, obviously curious.
Mia mumbled something, yet again incoherent.
"What was that?" Talia asked, clearly confused at whatever the sound that just came out of her best friends mouth was supposed to mean.
