DieLottie woke up in an unfamiliar bed. She had no idea where she was or how she got there. There was a knock on the door, and she just about managed to mumble, "come in," still half asleep and still extremely confused.

"Good morning!" Lily Potter smiled, a tray with a glass of orange juice and a plate of toast in her hands.

And then it all came back to her. She was at Potter Manor, suspended after punching Erin Johnson repeatedly. She couldn't help but smirk at the memory.

"Thank you, Lily." She said as she took the tray, smiling at her Godmother.

"I was wondering...well you see I need to go to Diagon Alley to pick some things up," Lily said, slightly nervous on how to approach Lottie. "Would you like to come with me? I know you're supposed to be suspended but I'm sure nobody would notice... We could go and get some lunch afterwards and just catch up."

Charlotte looked up at her Godmother curiously, her mind wandering to the box and diary her mother had made for her. I know Lily is probably treating you like a second daughter. Would things be like that in the future? Would Lily live up to the godparents duties like James had?

"Why not," Lottie shrugged, giving her godmother a small smile.

There was only one way to find out.

"Amazing! We'll go in an hour or so, just let me know when you're ready." Lily smiled softly.

Lily left the room after that, and Charlotte was left to her own thoughts.

She wondered what her relationship with Lily would have been like if her father hadn't screwed it up, and the mere thought sent shivers down her spine.

A few hours later, Lottie and Lily made their way down diagon alley with smiles on their faces. The pair had been getting on well, although there was still some tension in the air and it got a little awkward and some points.

James and Lily had completely different personalities. He would say whatever came to his mind and hoped that Lottie found it interesting, whereas she wasn't so bold, taking time to evaluate every sentence and conversation starter before she said it in fear of upsetting Lottie.

"So has it been exciting with Durmstrang and Beauxbatons at Hogwarts?" Lily asked as they made their way towards Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour.
