Chapter 135

1.2K 58 23

For the last couple days, Blake has been pretty pissed at himself because of the whole Curtis thing. I told him to relax because I mean, he didn't know what Curtis or Dorian looked like, but he's still pissed. Me, on the other hand, I'm a paranoid mess. How the fuck is Curtis out of jail and roaming the streets?!

I don't have time to worry about that right now because today I'm meeting with potential babysitters for Brielle since I'm going back to work soon. I don't want to leave her with some stranger, but everyone works during the day and it'll only be for a couple hours.

Monique's going to the interviews with me, so Blake's gonna watch Brielle while I'm gone.

"Blake, Monique's gonna be here soon," I said, handing him Brielle.

"Why do we need a nanny?"

"I told you, I'm going back to work, and someone has to watch her while I'm gone. I'm not gonna take her with me."

"You don't even need to work."

I raised my eyebrow and turned my body to face him, "do I look like a stay at home mom to you?"

"Well, not a typical stay at home mom, but you could be."

"You know I hate staying at home too long. I get bored easily."

I was starting to get frustrated with this conversation because we already talked about me going back to work. What the hell do I look like sitting in this house all day being a housewife? That is not me. I'd probably shoot myself in the head.

"I just don't see why you wanna go back if you don't need to," he said.

"Because I want to, Blake. Why should I have to stay at home all day while you get to go out and do what you wanna do?"

"Whatever, Briana."

"Are you seriously ma--"

I stopped mid sentence when I heard a car horn. I kissed Brielle's forehead and left the house without saying anything to Blake.

I don't understand why Briana wants to go back to work so bad. Why does she wanna hire someone to take care of Brielle when she could just stay home and do it herself?

"Your mom can be so stubborn," I said to Brielle, "but that's why I love her."

As much as I want to stay home with Bri, I need to get out of the house, so I decided to call Chris.

CP: what up, B?

'I need to get out of the house. My wife is driving me insane.'

CP: alright. what about Lil Bri?

'I was thinking since Jada loves her so much, she could babysit for a while.'

I heard him ask Jada, and then I heard her scream, so I assumed she's gonna do it.

CP: she said she would love to. we'll be there in about thirty minutes.

'Cool. Thanks man.'

Chris and I were sitting in this bar, and I just explained to him what happened between Briana and I. He's been married longer than me, so I figured he could shed some light on the situation.

"You kinda sound like that misogynistic asshole, Jake," he said, "if Briana wants to go back to work and if you love her like you say you do, then you should support her decision."

He was right, but hearing him say I sounded like Jake made me cringe.

Our waitress came back and I just realized that she's cute. Actually, cute is an understatement. She was sexy as hell.

"How are you guys?" she asked.

"We're good," I said, smiling at her, "what's your name?"

"Blake." Chris warned.

I waved him off, and I could see him shaking his head out of the corner of my eye.

"I'm Heidi," she smiled.

A drunken idea popped into my head and even though I know it's gonna get me in trouble, I went along with it anyway.

"Do you like working here?" I asked Heidi.

"It pays the bills, so I won't complain."

"...have you ever worked with kids?"

I ignored Chris and waited for Heidi to answer the question.

"Yeah. I used to babysit all time," she said, running her hand through her hair.

"Well, my baby mama and I are looking for a babysitter for our daughter. Are you interested?" I asked her.

"Cool. What time do you get off?"

She looked down at her watch then back at me, "in fifteen minutes."

"Alright. We'll wait for you."

She smiled and walked off and when I looked at Chris, he was shaking his head at me in disbelief.

"What the hell was that?" he asked, "you've only been married for a week & a half, and you're already trying to get divorced?"

"I just wanna piss Bri off a little," I said, raising the beer bottle to my mouth.

Chris snatched the bottle out of my hand and put it on one of the waitresses trays.

"Briana's gonna be more than pissed when she finds out. She's gonna kill you. She's actually gonna kill you, and then she's gonna dig your body up and kill you again."

I chuckled, "you worry too much, man. Briana is gonna be just fine."

"Yeah, if you say so..."

Hm. I wonder how Briana's gonna react.
