DEATH IS JUST THE FLAME FOR A MOTH

HEADCANONS :

• Thanatos is both his mother & father curled into one being though at times he hold more of his mother rather then the anger & terrifying nature that is his father . his twin , hypnos , has much more of their mother then their shared father

• Tea is something he will always go to , his favorite is chamomile & lavender though anytime he isn't drinking tea is a call for concern

• He is very much a workaholic . More often then not working himself until his brother puts him to sleep & forces a good meal into him or he simply passes out & falls behind on everything . Needless to say he is a good worker but puts his work before himself

• His home could be called extremely neat , organized & clean . Why ? Because he hardly ever actually spends time there . It's always empty besides the souls that inhabit it  & stay there themselves

• To get to his home is like walking into a deep cave that happens to be freezing but is filled with crystals everywhere . No matter where you look there will be crystals forming all around . Sometimes it is why the souls stays there in the first place . Peaceful & beautiful .

• Souls inhabit his home as butterflies , beautiful souls that are always extremely different from the other . Their wings show their personality in a form unlike any other . One could watch them for hours flying around but they have the ability to take on a human form but many prefer a butterfly one

• Thanatos often talks to the souls usually in hums or murmurs . One could mistake him for talking to himself but really or could be odysseus or some other soul

• If you were to ask the souls what it was like for him to take you to the afterlife it might be something along these lines ; spring touching the cold winter air for the first time , the signs of life coming forth through a deep cold rooted into the ground slowly releasing itself . A cold that brings warmth , a kindness that let's out a deep breath &  smile to your lips . A faint sign of hope .

• Not many know this but thanatos did teach ares how to use swords & how to fight when he was a boy . Ares now to this day sometimes calls himself the servant of death as a way to show thanks to thanatos & causes chaos from time to time to see him every now & then to bug the daylights out of him

• His family can be a touchy subject but like nyx he will do anything to protect his brothers even go against zeus if he has to . Since most are asleep he wants to keep what he has left close even if he isn't there most of the time . Hypnos & charon are all he has left of his family after all the rest happen to be in the depths of tartarus .

• Thanatos isn't use to touch or friendliness at all . Some do not touch him based on the fear of him as he is the gentle side of death . Some fear him because of the titan blood the runs through his veins , each goes hand in hand at why he is an introvert .

• His scythe is tethered to his soul . It is actually apart of him in a very deep way that cannot fully be understood as it was a teaching his grandfather chaos taught him a very very long time ago .
