How to make an oc character

Lesson 1: The simple rules

Hello there young fan, I'm here to help you on your oc character! What? Don't have one yet? Well let me help you on that! I will give you some tips of my opinion to help you!

Tip #1: DONT CALL THEM AN OC YET!

The most important rule that everyone ignores is that YOU SHOULD NEVER CALL IT A ORIGINAL CHARACTER! yet...

Until you think about how your character will act look like, you must think about their story and avoid those clichè moments.

EXAMPLE: Creepypasta characters

Fangirl: my character is like, sooo original! Her name is Janice the killer and like she is the lost sibling of Jeff and she is a total emo and stuff and like, she is so strong and stuff!

Tip #2: Cliches

There are A TON of cliche characters, but some are great! Here are major cliches you must avoid:

1: brother or sister of (insert character here)

2: daughter or son of (insert character here)

3: The lost twin or sibling of (insert character here)

4: The power of (insert dumb over powered magic thingy here)

5: Alot stronger and better than everybody

Tip #3: don't make them OP!

As you already know OP means over powered. Over powered characters can be a big problem

EXAMPLE: mlp RP (a fake one)

Me: hi I'm Pixelwing! (Mlp character I made) what's your name?

Fangirl: hi I'm fairydust! I'm like a alicorn princess!

Me: ok... so uhh what's your life like?

Fangirl: oh me! Well I like, help my mom princess celestia control the kingdom, defeated discord with Luna and celestia once, I like hang out with the mane 6, and uhh stuff that's a lot cooler than what you do!

Me: I just play video games, hang out with derpy, and work at the rainbow factory...

Fangirl: OMG THATS SOOO BORING! I can defeat like any bad guy at all! (Insert op stuff here)
