Hogwarts, Here I Come - Chapter 2

She bustled through a throng of busybodies, some where wizards and witches. But most were Muggles, unaware that there were so many platforms on Kings Cross Station.

Butterflies were not flying around in her stomach, they were whizzing around with no sense of direction. How could anyone not smash their face when running into a solid brick wall?

But her thoughts were interrupted when a boy her age came up to Mrs Weasley and asked politely about getting to platform 9 and 3/4. Of course Mrs Weasley would help him.

They ran together with their trolleys. She closed her eyes almost sure of the consequences. But when she opened her eyes, she didn't see a brick wall but a whole new platform before her. Platform 9 and 3/4.

She breathed in the fresh air as she happily embarked on her long journey. Ron was trying to turn Scabbers, his rat, yellow. They also met a girl with bushy brown hair.

The other boy they shared the compartment with had a lightning scar on his forehead. And Cassandra suddenly knew who he was...

"Hi, I'm Hermione Jean Granger. Who are you?" the girl said, demandingly.

Cassandra was snapped out of her daze. "Oh...I'm Cassandra, Cassandra Varens. Call me Cassy," she smiled.

In fact, Cassandra was rather curious about the rest of this strange train, so she pretended that she needed the toilet.

She was quite surprised when there was nobody behind her. She was half-expecting Hermione to come and pounce up on her.

"Watch where you're going, Mudblood!" sneered a boy with blonde hair slicked down his nape.

"Who said you could go tripping people up?" Cassandra angrily retorted.

The boy was surprised, even remotely impressed. Nobody had ever talked to him like that, except for his father of course.

Cassandra was still waiting for an answer, "well?!"

"Don't you know who I am, Draco Malfoy-"

"That doesn't give you any right to trip people up. You're nothing short of a bully! And I've got more important things to do than talk to cowards," Cassandra interrupted as she brushed past him, wondering what a Mudblood was.

"I'll get you, Mudblood!" Malfoy exclaimed in defeat.

When Cassandra came back to her compartment, she was greeted by a familiar face. It was Hermione.

"Where were you? You said you were going to the toilet, it doesn't take that long!" Hermione inquired, frowning.

"Well...I was going to, but this boy called Draco Malfoy tripped me up and blamed it on me, you know," she reasoned, hoping Hermione would understand. "He even called me a Mudblood, I don't know what that means." Cassy confessed.

"Mudblood did he say?" Ron said, turning purple,"That's jolly well rude of him. It's the worst thing you could call a wizard without magical lineage, basically a Muggle wizard."

"Okay..." Cassy said, frowning as Hermione said, "Oh, I forgot to introduce you to Harry Potter."

The boy with the lightning scar no longer had broken glasses.

"Hey, I'm Cassandra. Just call me Cassy. Your glasses aren't broken anymore, I guess Hermione repaired them." Cassandra smiled and held out her hand.

Harry copied her and smiled with great happiness, he had made another new friend.
