Ch. 3 Galvanize

Ayla glared back at her. "That furry demon has drawn blood at least twenty times now, so I'd say I've been extremely kind by not returning the favor," she told her.

Piper rolled her eyes and grabbed her books. Something suddenly grabbed her attention and Ayla followed her gaze to see Kira down the hall. "Are you ever going to ask her out, or am I going to be forced to continue watching this sad, awkward, little show?" she wondered.

"Are you and Scott ever going to go on a date, or am I going to have to continue to watch you disgustingly gaze at each other in class?" Piper asked.

"Okay, but Scott knows how I feel. Him still being in love with his ex girlfriend is the problem. You've said nothing to Kira," Ayla reminded.

Piper sighed. "It's complicated," she replied.

"How exactly?" Ayla asked.

"I don't know. Maybe the fact that I don't even know if she dates girls," Piper told her.

"Seriously?" Ayla wondered.

"Yes," Piper said.

"Sweetie, yesterday her father literally said she likes you," Ayla told her.

"He could've meant that friend you like," Piper said.

Ayla shook her head at her ex. "Oh, my God. Just pull up your big girl panties and ask her out," she told her.

"I can't!" Piper snapped.

"Why not?" Ayla questioned.

"Because I've never asked anyone out," Piper told her.

Ayla rolled her eyes, but she knew it was true. The Hale had been the one to ask Piper out when they started dating. "It's not that hard," Ayla told her as the two began walking towards class.

"For you maybe," Piper told her.

They hadn't even made it through half the school day before police showed up again. A guy who had blown up several people had gotten out of police custody and ended up at their school. But of course, it couldn't just be a normal serial killer for once.

"Barrow went after kids with glowing eyes?" Isaac asked. "He said those exact words?"

The two betas, banshee, huntress, and Stiles were all making their way through the school.

"Yeah, and no one knows how he woke up from anesthesia. Just that when they opened him up, they found a tumor full of live flies, which in any other circumstances would be all kinds of awesome," Stiles told them.

"I think you meant all kinds of disgusting," Ayla corrected.

"Did you say flies?" Lydia asked. All of them stopped and turned to look back at the strawberry blonde.

"Lydia?" Allison said in concern.

"All day I have been hearing this sound. It's like... this buzzing," the banshee told them.

"Like the sound of flies?" the huntress wondered.

"Exactly like the sound of flies," Lydia agreed.
