Going Home

I sighed as I looked out the window at the passing scenery, Carissa's voice babbling on about how sad she was that I was finally going home. As the airport came into sight, I could already feel my stomach flip.

She parked in front of the airport and walked out, helping me take my bags out of her car. "Are you sure you don't want me to help you?" she asked, looking at me. I sighed, a tiny simle on my face.

"Carissa, I'm fine. I'm not a kid anymore." She laughed, ruffling my hair. "Besides," I continued. "You'll be late for work."

She sighed dramatically before she pulled me into a beg hug. "I'll miss you. Make sure you visit again soon." I nodded, waving bye to her as she walked back to her car and drove off. I sighed, picking up my bags and heading into the airport, beginning my journey to my old life.
