Summer

Summer, the hottest of seasons.

What could be said for this time of year that hasn't been said already? It's a time of relaxation for some, increased work for others, or even a combination of the two. A time of jobs bringing up projects, festivals crowding the streets of towns, beaches filled with people, and blistering heat met with resistance by any piece of cold a person could get their hands on.

Currently, for Kyoka Jirou, it was a time of worrying about what the hell outfit she was going to wear for her date with a certain green haired man.

After months of going back and forth on her feelings about Izuku Midoriya, she finally asked him out... At the exact same moment that he asked her out. (How incredibly coincidental or lucky that is, is yet to be determined.)

So, after they both agreed to go on the date, all that was left was a matter of deciding on what to do, and what to wear, and so on and so on. Thankfully, with the season's change to Summer, the choice of what to do was made quite simple: A festival date, where the two could go around and do a whole bunch of stuff. It sounded fun, honestly.

However, with that, came some problems.

Musutafu wasn't going to be having a festival for a month, and even then, they don't exactly wear masks, so going to that festival would get interrupted with lots and lots of people asking for Izuku's autograph. Luckily, there was a solution.

"Aozora Festival?" Kyoka asks, looking at the tablet given to her by one Izuku Midoriya.

"Yeah. I wanted to make sure we'd be able to enjoy ourselves, so I started looking into festivals out of town, and stuff. This one is in a small village just south of Mt. Fuji. It's lesser known, but still pulls in some tourists so we won't stick out like a sore thumb." Izuku explains, opening up a sidebar on the web page, leading to some pictures. Night sky, plenty of games and food booths, and the standard masks you find.

"Sounds almost perfect. What's the catch?" Kyoka asks, Izuku giving a shaky hand in response.

"Well... Aside from travel time, which it'll take an hour or so to get there, going by train after all, uh... It's sort of a hero based festival?" Izuku says, slowly raising his shoulders, as a cheeky smile crosses his face. Kyoka looks back in a deadpan. "W-well, more of a mythological hero, to be precise. It's supposed to honor the town's guardian spirit, who protected them and if locals are to be believed, the entire earth, from great calamity. It's called the Aozora Festival, because the spirit is said to have protected all under the blue sky."

"You could have just said that from the start, you know." Kyoka replies as a cheeky grin spreads across her face. "You're way too easy to tease, you know that, right?"

Izuku blushes a bit, before clearing his throat. "Yeah, yeah. In any case, it's an hour's train ride away, so we can meet up at say, seven or so if you're okay with that."

"Yeah, that sounds good to me." Kyoka smiles, getting one in response from Izuku.

So yay, good luck there. But now it's a matter of dress.

Kyoka doesn't own any kimonos, and she isn't going to run out and buy one because she would like to put actual thought and effort into getting one, and it's a commitment and- Ugh, she's falling down the rabbit hole again. Focus girl.

Summer, hot as hell, even at night. Something light, but nothing too light. Keep it casual, but look nice because it's a date. Kyoka took a deep breath in, and pulled out a few items from her closet. "Guess this will have to do..."

It took 45 minutes total for Kyoka to finish getting ready, because her nerves kept getting the better of her. Going back and forth on the outfit, thinking over if she should bother with different make ups or such, and generally just being a wreck.
