~Grace White POV~
I wake up early Sunday morning when I realize it's Easter. I lay in my bed and think of the memories Elliot and I had last year for the holiday, and Evan, my baby was 1 year of age. He such a cutie pie, I love them both to death. I walk to the kitchen to make myself some coffee because I know it's going to be a long day.
I tip-toe to Evans room to check on him, and he's sound asleep.
"Hey buddy, wake up." I whisper into Evans ear.
"Daddy? Is that you?" He says still half awake.
"No, daddy is not here right now, but mommy is. And guess what day it is?" He's now looking up at me with his big hazel eyes.
"What is it mommy?"
"It's Easter!" I jump around in my pj shorts, and Evan with a big smile, now sitting up. I think I'm more excited than he is.
"Are you hungry my darling?" I ask my birth child.
"Ya, can we have strawberry pancakes? You know the ones daddy use to make." Evan ask as I carry him to the kitchen, then sit him down on his eating chair. I can't believe that he still remembers how his dad made strawberry pancakes. Kids have minds like gum, always sticking to something.
"Of course my little angle. Would you like them to be egg shape? Then we could decorate them." I try not to say bunny shape because I know I can't even make a circle shape, let alone a bunny.
"Yes please." He says in a still sleepy voice.
"After pancakes, we have to get ready to go to mommy's friends party, to go find eggs and take pictures with mr.rabbit. Okay?"
"Yes, is that why we went shopping for me and mommy's clothes yesterday?"
"Yes Evan, your going to look very handsome today."
"Okay." He replies monotone.
"Why do you sound so sad? What's wrong Evan?" I put down the mixing bowl and get closer to my love.
"Nothing mommy, I just really wish daddy was here too." He says tears in his eyes and in mine. I almost want to say me too but I don't and instead I try to cheer him up.
"Evan you can't be so negative on Easter. Look the pancakes are almost ready just give me a minute, dose that sound good to you? Can you be a good boy for mommy?"
"Yes mom." I wipes his tears with the sleeve of his shirt.
"Good, now let's have a good day." I say and begin making the pancakes again.
"Wow Evan you look very cute with your outfit, you should thank mommy for having a good style." I adjust his laces on his shoes.
"You look very pretty mommy. And thank you."
"Aw thank you baby. Now give me a big hug and drive to aunt Sofia's."
"Yay, lets go." Evan says as I grab my keys and dive over to my dearest friend Sofia's.
