The sun reflected on the clouds like a rippling sea, sprawling out overhead. The rose and white colored clouds slowly drifted like boats from the chilly gusts of wind, causing my teeth to slightly chatter.
Stretching my aching limbs, I could feel all the pain rushing back to me from last night's fight. I could barely move my body, but could still turn my head to see Will sleeping, curled up into a ball on the damp grass. Turning my attention a little more north, I watched as Nyx instructed Yua on how to wrap cloth around her wounded abdomen. Every so often Nyx would flinch in pain and Yua would profusely apologize.
I laid in silence for a good 20 minutes before Nyx eventually hovered over me. I could do nothing but mutter out raspy words.
"What's for breakfast?" Nyx scoffed and turned towards Yua trying to wake Will. Behind him were the footprints of the large wolves leading off into the woods, where it appeared last night.
"Nothing if we can't make it back to the house. It'll be tough especially since you can barely move, and we don't know Will's condition yet." Nyx gave me a half smile and sat down next to me. I could hear Yua mutter words to Will like, "Wake up," and "Get up you lazy bones."
It was calm, just like any other morning. Even after what happened last night, it was almost completely quiet. You could make out the ruffling bird feathers and the distant sounds of something scurrying up trees. I reached my arm to the sky, with an open palm like I was reaching for something.
"I want eggs and toast." Nyx spoke to break the silence. I brought my arm back to my side, wincing from the pain.
"Mmm, that sounds nice, but I'm not cooking." I said sharply, looking at Nyx. She rested her arms around her wound.
"We'll just make the kids do it, tell 'em it's the least they could do or something like that." Will groaned and Yua jumped up from his side.
"Is this better or worse than a hangover for you?" I asked Nyx, "I don't know, usually I just stay drunk long enough to start drinking more. Also, how's that cut?" Nyx stood up and pointed towards the bottom of her cheek.
My fingers guided over to the spot Nyx was pointing out. A new scab was forming, and it was painful to the touch. Nyx asked if I wanted help getting up.
"I'll get up myself, you should worry about your wound opening up." She gave me a look and slowly walked to see Yua and Will. I took my sweet time getting up from the ground. As I got up, I felt as though I would topple to the ground once again, but I made sure every step of mine, as I walked to the rest of the group, were slow and steady ones.
"Did we win?" I heard Will inquire as I hobbled closer to hear their conversation. Nyx promptly responded, "You think we would all be here if we didn't?" Nyx spoke with a sarcastic tone. Yua pulled Will from the ground.
"How are you feeling?" Yua questioned Will in her high pitched voice as he got on his feet.
"I feel fine, my hands are a little burnt, but other than that, I think I'll live." He gave Yua a reassuring smile. Yua responded back with a gleaming grin. We all agreed to walk back to the house.
On the way back, you could periodically hear all of our stomachs grumble with desperation. We would have to rest on the walk back, to check Nyx's wounds, and because my legs would start to turn to what felt like slime if I walked too much. Though it wasn't soon enough, we eventually came upon the dirt path, which slowly turned to stone bricks. We could see the salvation of the cabin standing soundly in its foundation. We all collectively sighed with relief. Yua ran up to the door and creaked it open for us.
"Thanks dear," Nyx rubbed Yuas head as she walked into the cabin. We sat down at the table for a moment before we decided what to eat. We couldn't get our food back that Yua and Will had stolen from last night. Nyx had told us, when she awoke this morning, almost all of it was taken by animals, or had been eaten by something on the ground where it laid.

AventureOut of all 365 lonely days I've spent in this house, if you can even call it that, not once did I ever think about abandoning it. Not the first day, when I woke with no recollection of who I was or what had happened a day before that, and certainly...
