Chapter 20
──────⊱⁜⊰──────

You woke up and were shocked Dabi was the first thing you saw. You were both on the couch back at your home and your head was laid on his lap.

"Finally, you're up. Your big ass head was making my leg numb."

You sit up and remove your legs from the chair.

"Weren't we just at that hideout? How'd I get back here."

"You fell asleep? I had to bring your stupid ass back."

You remembered everything that happened just earlier today. The whole Dabi-Hawks situation. You acting like a whore. You usually never would've done something like that.

"You didn't have to bring up my daddy issues there you know. I told you that in confidence."

"We all have our problems doll. You barely have it bad."

"What time is it?"

"A little after eight."

"I was asleep for four hours already?"

He nods. You lay back on Dabi's lap.

"What did you mean by that?"

"By what?"

"The whole we all have our problems and you barely have it bad."

"Don't worry about it. By the way... I hope you know all the others saw you today."

It was embarrassing but the worst part is that you didn't even feel ashamed.

The weekend soon ended and it was time for you to go back to your hell of a job. You headed to the employees' room and put on your apron.

"Y/n my love.", Tokiko says to you.

"You never call me that unless you need something. What is it?"

"Can you please take over my job at the register? Just for today. I have to visit my sister at the hospital."

"Oh, I hope she's okay. Sure, I'll take over."

"Thank you so much. And she's fine. Just another broken arm from fighting. I owe you one", she says patting your back and running off.

You head to the empty register to deal with customers. As you're ringing up someone, you see a person who you never wanted to see again walk into the cafe. Your ex from back in high school. You two ended on bad terms because of something he did and you never forgave him for it. It's not like he even apologized.

Fuck. What's he even doing here in Japan?

You couldn't just run away. There was a long line full of people. He probably wouldn't even notice you. Or so you thought. Not wanting him to see you, you keep your head straight and focus on what you were doing.

By the time he got to the front of the line, your register was the only free one. You see him walking up to the counter.

"It's like God just hates me...", you mumble.
