That didn't happen.
Everytime the snake would venture out, the child would be their to tell him more about the movies and shows they watched. The kid would also show him the cool things he carried. Like his cowboy costume. But most interesting was his weapon.
"This is a gun and not a fake one either. Its real. Its supposed to be empty put I snuck one bullet inside. Dont tell my parents if you ever meet them. I would be in big trouble."
"Why one?" The snake asks. He was slowly beginning to respond to the child.
"Why one bullet? Well cause that is what Captain Jack Sparrow has." The child then began to fanboy about this pirate from a new movie that they watched in the theaters. (This would be the first pirates movie btw) The snake didn't really pay attention to them.
More time passed. The snake would never admit it, but he considered the child to be his friend. He found the child's company enjoyable to the point where he secretly looked forward to meeting up with them.
One day, they said something surprising.
"I'm going to go meet the king."
"You do know what will happen if you do go there correct?"
"I do. But I have been here long enough. Everyone, even yourself, awaits to see what my fate will be."
"Your fate, would be death. If you take a step into the judgement hall you will be killed." He left after he said that. It was his best attempt to scare the child away.
The snake did not want his friend to die.
That following evening. The child was at the entrance of the judgement hall. He looked around in awe adoring the golden yellow of the marble. The snake hated the feeling that swelled inside him.
"Hello Ophiuchus." The child was the only one at this point who called him by his name. The monsters started to come up with a nickname for the royal judge. Sheriff Hiss. The snake didn't like the name. He found it insulting. But he didn't say anything about it to not hurt the feelings of the monsters.
"Before you say anything. I want to tell you that I know full well what might happen to me and why. What I want to know is who you are supposed to be my friend."
The snake finding no reason to remain quiet, told the child his job and purpose. The child smiled sadly. "Even before we met. We were meant to go against eachother. Tell me, would I have been able to pass with the sins that I carry?" The child held their arms out waiting to be judged.
With a quick glance the snake could see this boys LV. It wasn't high but for it to have grown ment that he had killed. No doubt for a justifiable reason. The snake wanted to tell him no he can not. He wanted to tell him to leave and return to the hotel where he was safe. The words refused to leave his mouth.
"Yes, you would."
The child smiled content with the answer. The snake notice something in the child's eyes. They glowed yellow. It appeared that their conviction had been locked in. Nothing could be done to persuade the child from leaving. That much was certain.
"I have a favor to ask from you." The child started. "I want you to kill me."
The snake was horrified by the words that left the child's mouth. The sentence echoed in his head.
"Go home child. This is not a place for you to be."
"I will not!" The child stomped their foot on the floor. "Because of my ancestors you have been trapped down here. Stripped of your rights as living beings, and incarcerated for something you did not do. An injustice that I refuse to stand idily by and watch. . . The only way for justice to prevail is to pay the price. An eye for an eye or in this case a soul for thousands of trapped monsters."
