I hear the sound of Layla crying. I unwrap my arm from Harmony and get out of bed. I walk out of the room and down the hall to the nursery. I open the door slowly and walk in. I go over to the bassinet and pick up the baby. I cradle her in my arms. He cries now softened and she fell silent. She looks up at me with her big blue eyes. She reaches up to grab my nose and I laugh.
"Hello beautiful," I tell my baby girl.
She squeals and kicks her legs around. She nearly hit me in the face with her tiny feet.
"Hey you," I laughed.
I smile down at her, making her giggle. I decide to bring her downstairs with me. I go into the living room and sit down. I sit Layla up in my lap. She reaches up and slaps my cheek playfully.
"Ow, no little one."
I start tickling her and she couldn't stop laughing. I wish she would say something rather than laugh at me all the time. But she won't talk or even utter her first word until she's at least 1.
"Hey you two." I see Harmony appear into the living room.
She sits down next to me and takes the baby from me.
"I think we need a night to ourselves," I tell her.
"I couldn't agree more. That's why I called my mom to babysit Layla tonight."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, I think we deserve a night alone together" she says.
"Okay, sounds good to me."
She takes Layla from me and brings her back upstairs to the nursery. I lean back into the sofa and turn on the tv.
"Are we bringing Layla over your mom's house or is she picking her up?" I ask Harmony.
"We're bringing her over there" she replied.
We go outside and take Layla over to her Grandma's house. When we get there, we knock on the door. Harmony's mom opens the door almost immediately. Harmony smiles at her mother happily. Mrs. Hayes takes Layla into her arms.
"We will back to pick her up at 9," she tells her mother.
"No it's alright. I'll keep her overnight, you two enjoy yourselves." Mrs. Hayes told us both.
"Alright then. Her formula is in the bag." Harmony told her mom.
"Okay" she replied.
We go back to the car and I drive us to dinner. We decided on a restaurant near by.
Luke opens the car door for me and I get out.
He nods and smiles. We walk into the restaurant hand in hand. We get seated and order our food.
"It feels nice" he says.
I look at him with confusion.
"It feels nice to be out, just us." He clarifies what he means for me.
"Yeah it is."
I glance down at the table and sigh.
"I love you," he says suddenly.
I look up at my fiancé. He looks at me with his blue eyes, that can instantly pull you in. He was really something special.
"I love you too."
Luke's cheeks turn slightly pink. This always happen every single time still. We have said "I love you" to each other about a million times already, yet we still blush every time.
(The end of this chapter! Love you all!)
