Chapter 18 - Disscussions

Jay braces himself and walks into the jail that's holding John. He clutches his fist and walks in gritting his teeth. He walks into Johns holding cell and looks him up and down
"Ahh! Your the one who works with my slut of a daughter!" John says as he looks Jay up and down
"You were never a dad to her! You took her in because you ran out of people to hit!" Jay says as he leans against the wall
"She deserved it!" John yells
"She was 7! What 7 year old deserves to be hit! Huh?" Jay shouts as he steps closer to John sitting at a table
But John avoids eye contact and doesn't respond
"Your the only reason she wanted to become a cop! She wanted to be a doctor growing up! But after you hit her she wanted to protect the world against people like you! And look at her that 21 year old girl is on one of the best units in Chicago!" Jay shouts as he lays his hand on the table
"I don't see that lasting much longer! Didn't she almost get her partner shot? Talk about being unfit for the job!" John shouts as Jay gets closer to him
"Don't you dare talk about her like that" Jay threatens
"Aww does someone have a little crush?" John asks as Jay slaps him
"That's assault!" John shouts
"Suck it up" Jay shouts as he leans back against the wall
"I have connections everywhere! Sooner or later that girl is gonna get what's coming to her!" John yells as the blood drips from his nose landing on the table
"Yeah that's not gonna happen! I have connections everywhere! Those connections just so happen to have guns...Legal Guns! So if you think for a minute that I'm gonna hold back, then you've got another thing coming" Jay shouts angrily before booting Johns shin and walking out
Jay stands at the door and can hear him call out in pain before a guard collects him. Jay walks out to see Erin sitting on the bonnet of her car
"What did you do?" She asks walking over to Jay
"Nothing that concerns you" Jay adds coldly
"You threatened him didn't you?" Erin adds
"Shift starts in an hour, I need to get going" Jay adds as he gets in his car and drives off
Jay walks in the district to discover Trudy and Mouch standing
"How is she?" Mouch asks as they walk closer to Jay
"It's just we never got a chance to swing by the hospital" Trudy adds panicking
"She's doing great. She wants you guys to swing by" Jay adds barely able to look Trudy in the eyes
"Thanks Halstead" Mouch says as he taps his shoulder
Trudy and Mouch run out and head to the hospital.
"Hey Mouch" Shay says as she notices them first
"Opp and Trudy" Shay says as Trudy appears at the back of him
"How you holding up kid?" Mouch asks
"I'm doing good" Malory adds groggily
They stay with her for the rest of the night and trudy is holding Mallory's hand whilst Shay grabs a coffee.
"Thank you mom" Mallory whispers before falling asleep
The warmth builds up inside of trudy and she smiles...
