My back is facing the door and I run my fingers through my curls. I hold my chin up high and my shoulders back.

The door opens.

I don't turn around just yet.

"You must be Genesis." He says. His voice is deep but in a soothing way.
I turn to face him.

I hide how shocked I am but he's gorgeous.
He's tall and has messy yet tangled hair.
His jawline looks like it could slice me open.

I see how his eyes light up as I look at him.

"Yes." I reply quietly with one word.

"Our fathers wanted us to meet. They both agreed that it would be best for us to see each other before the wedding." He says as he studies my body.

I see him look away.

"I'm aware." I reply.

I turn back around.
I hear him take quick strides behind me.

His fingers graze my back, trying to get my attention. I turn back around to see him holding a box.

"What's this?" I ask looking down at the velvet box.

"An early wedding gift." He says as he places it in my hands.

He turns back around facing the door.

I open the box and it's a ring. My engagement ring.

"It's beautiful

"It's beautiful.." I say.

All the sudden his phone rings.

My gaze is brought back to him.

"Se l'accordo fallisce, ti farò morire anch'io. Sarò lì presto." He says.

He looks back to me.

"I have to go take care of business. But I will be seeing you later tonight." He says as he walks back to me and Kisses my cheek.

He walks out and I stay silent. This guy is always leaving.
I look down at the ring in the box. What am I going to tell Liam.

I close the box and put it in my purse.
I fluff my hair and open the door.
I jump to see Liam standing outside. His hands are down infront of him. Standing like a true body guard.

"God, you scared me." I say as I walk out. I walk all the way down the stairs and he follows me.

"Gen." He calls.

"Gen" he calls again.

"What?" I say finally turning around.

"Why were you in the room with that guy?" He asks staring into my soul.

"God- no- it's not like that." I stumble over my words.

"Then what's going on?" He asks.

I don't know how to tell him without hurting him.

"Look, you got to start telling me stuff." He says.

I hesitate before telling him.
"I just found out.." I begin.

"You found out what?" He presses on.

"I'm getting married. My father arranged me to get married. I'm sorry.. I didn't know how to tell you." I say covering my face.

He stays silent.
He nods and walks off.
