Chapter 20

Today is Monday again, the weekends go so fast these days. But that's not the only thing I'm sad about, James is gonna be back at school this week and let's just say I wish I wasnt alive right now, but I guess I have to face him someday.

I got up and did my usual routine shower, get dressed, hair and makeup.

Once I was done I went downstairs to be greeted by my mom, as always. My life is like a continuous circle, the same thing happens all the time and I'm getting annoyed with it.

"Hey sweetie." Mom said to me. I just groaned, how can my mom be so hyper in the mornings?

"Somebody is in a mood today." She said sarcastically as I leaned up against the kitchen counter.

"James is due back to school today..." I sighed.

Mom's facial expression turned from normal to worried.

"If anything happens-"

"I know I know, if anything happens I'll call you, blah blah blah." I cut mom's sentence off. I just hate it when she gets too protective of me, like I can take care of myself.

"Well I'm gonna go meet the devil himself so I guess I'll see you later." I said and walked out the door before mom could start another one of her lectures. I'm just not in the mood.

I got into school and the worry was running through my mind and my body, it was getting hard to walk because of my weak knees. I went to my locker and was greeted by Nash.

"Good morning Em!" He said smiling and hugging me. He must have felt how tense I was because he stopped and looked at me.

"What's wrong?" He asked with concern.

"James is gonna be back at school today..." I said, my voice croaking as I said his name.

"Oh... Yeah. But don't worry, I won't let him hurt you again. If he does hurt you in any way, he's dead." He said and gave me another hug. This time I hugged him back.

"Hey guys." Jessica said.

"Hey." Me and Nash said in unison.

"Are you okay Emma? You look kinda pale." Jessica said with worry in her eyes.

"Um.. Yeah... Kinda." I said.

"Oh, I think I know what it is, its James right?"

I just nodded. I couldn't speak at this point. Jessica just gave me a sympathetic smile. Then the bell rang for us to get to class, my first class with James.

Luckily Jessica was in the same class as me so I will have someone to talk to and to try and get my mind off of him. Me and Jessica both made our way to our seats at the back of the class and waited until everyone arrived.

I spotted James enter the class. He was scanning the class looking at everyone, then he looked at me. He just gave me an evil death glare that kinda scared me to be honest.

"Hey, you okay?" Jessica said once she realized what I was looking at.

"Yeah, I just don't want him to talk to me today." I whispered to her.

"Don't worry about it, just ignore him." She smiled at me.

James just stared at me as he made his way to his seat, which was right in front of mine. He sat down and opened up his books, but then he turned around to look at me.

"Hello Emma." He said with a smirk on his face.

"Uh... Hi." I said and kept my head down. I didn't want to talk to him and I have no idea what his plan is.

Luckily nothing else was said because our teacher walked into the room and started the class.

*after school*

It was finally the end of a long and stressful day. I was now currently walking home with Nash. Jessica went home early because she felt sick.

"So how did you think today went?" Nash asked. He had his hands in his pockets.

"Okay I guess, I wanna go back to last week when I didn't have to worry about him." I said and sighed. Nash just nodded.

We were walking in silence for like a minute, but I heard someone behind us. I turned my head to see who it was and it was James. I gasped.

"Nash, James is behind us." I whispered to him.

"Its okay, I won't let him hurt you." He whispered back. I felt better after he said that.

"Hey Nash! Wait up a sec!" James said.

We both stopped and turned around to see what he wanted.

"What?" Nash said standing closer to me.

"Hey, so um... How are you?" James asked. He was purposely ignoring me. Good.

"I'm fine." Nash said.

"Look bro, I'm sorry about what happened. I didn't mean to hurt her." James said pointing to me. Bullshit.

"You could've seriously hurt her, and you know that." Nash said back.

"I know, I'm just really sorry." James said with his head down. He's lying, its all lies.

"Its okay bro." Nash said. Wait, what?

James nodded and walked away but smirked at me before leaving.

"Nash, why did you forgive him?" I asked getting annoyed.

"Because he's sorry for what he's done." He said and putting his hands in his pockets again.

"But he was lying. Did you not tell?"

"And how do you know that?" Nash was starting to get agitated.

I just shrugged my shoulders, I didn't want to argue with him just in case I lost him again. We were at my house now and Nash walked me to the door.

"So, I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked.

I just nodded my head yes and walked inside leaving a sad looking Nash at the front door.

"Hey sweetie, good day?" Mom asked from the living room.

"Uh-huh." I sad back and went upstairs to do homework. Not looking forward to tomorrow.
