A Different Beginning ~ Part 15 ~ Updated: 12/31/14 Late Afternoon

A moment later a knock sounded on the door and North and Gabriel stood in the doorway. They looked stunned as they met my eyes and then looked to Dr. Green and Mr. Blackbourne.  “How fucking long has she been in here?” Gabriel looked annoyed and North stepped over to me kneeling down. 

“Cheek.” He whispered and slipped a hand onto my face his warmth igniting my cheeks making them flush. “Baby you okay?” I nodded and he seemed to calm down a little. 

“Mr. Coleman language.” Mr. Blackbourne warned. 

“Owen…” Dr. Green whispered and Mr. Blackbourne looked surprised. “I didn’t message when I brought her here.” Mr. Blackbourne’s eyes widened and he ran a hand lightly through his hair. 

Confused I looked to North who shook his head lightly. “Sang baby we need your number.” He was really straight forward about it and I was stunned blushing even harder. He must have understood because North’s cheeks tinted pink as well. “No… thats not… well it is… but… shit…” 

“Fuck! Sang what he means is we want to make sure you are okay? Could we have your number? This way if you rush off we can make sure you are home safe? I heard you disappeared last night from Kota’s crying!” Gabriel finished and Mr. Blackbourne’s eyes and Dr. Green’s eyes met mine. 

“I didn’t disappear… I just went home… I told them…” I wheezed and North’s eyes widened. 

“Fucking hell Gabe. Calm down now before she freaks.” North turned his musk smell washing over me. “Easy Baby…” He gently caressed my cheek again and slowly I leaned forward resting my forehead against his chest. It was so warm and I felt so cold.

“Sorry… I would give you my number… but I don’t have a phone…” I breathed in and out slowly for a few moments relishing his musky sent. 

There was silence as I regained my breath and I heard Mr. Blackbourne talking. 

“She is here. *Pause* Tired the pain medication wasn’t working. *Pause*  No not right now. Mr. Coleman and Mr. Talyor are here. *Pause* Can you get her a phone?” Stunned my head shot up and my eyes connected with the silver Mr. Blackbourne. “Ms. Sorenson what is your favorite color?” 

Confused I looked to Dr. Green who nodded. “Pink.” I whispered very confused as to what was going on. 

“Pink” Mr. Blackbourne smirked as he repeated my answer into the phone. “Good. *Pause*” And with that Mr. Blackbourne snapped the phone closed. “Ms. Sorenson, once you are home can you make your way to Mr. Lee’s house? Mr. Morgan will have a phone for you with all of our numbers on it.” 

My eyes widened and my mouth dropped. “Bu-but…” I was stunned. They were getting me a phone? Why were they getting me a phone? I didn’t need one. I turned to North and the reason sunk in. They wanted to make sure I was okay. I slowly nodded giving my consent having no choice and no motivation to argue. 

“Good come on now Trouble.” Gabriel rolled his eyes at me and I blushed at the nick name. “Yes you are Trouble don’t forget it. Now your father is looking for you. Let’s get you back.” 

I quickly stood and North guided me to the door. I paused before I left looking at Mr. Blackbourne and Dr. Green. “Thank you… thank you both so much.” I met their eyes and smiled weakly. 

“Pookie I will have new pain medicine waiting at Kota’s house. Make sure you eat something before you take them.” Dr. Green smiled a heartfelt smile. 

I nodded and slipped out of the room to follow North and Gabriel headed back to the lobby.
