Lani's P.O.V.

"Lani, come on, you really have to come out of your shell more, girl. Like ya boy over here." Chris said. "I just don't want to, Christopher." I said knowing him to hear me say his government name instead of Chris. He just rolled his eyes & shut his mouth for the rest of the ride to school.

"So, when are you going to finally get a good car cause, this is cramping my style." He said nudging me. "First off, bitch. You not bout' to talk about my car, when yo non-driving ass crashed 3. Okay?" I said.

"Woah, Lani, first off. That 3rd car was somebody else's fault. So, technically, I only crashed 2 cars." Chris had laughed thinking he proved me wrong just because I was quiet. "Lani, you alright?" He asked me.

"I wish sometimes, I could run away. I could run away from high school & the assholes who come here to make our lives living hell here." I told Chris. "Remember what your father used to say." Chris said comforting me. 

'Never let fear keep you from striking out from the game.' I said in my head remembering what my dad always lived by.

We continued driving to our school & I found a good spot until Natalie took it with her sister Lyric, who was nicer than her, & Natalie's minions, Bitch 1 & Bitch 2. "Finders Keepers!" Bitch 1 also known as Andrea yelled out when Natalie took the spot. "Sorry, freak!" Bitch 2 known as Vicky yelled out. 

I then, found another spot & another car had taken it. Out of the car, came Devante Swing.

He locked his convertible & walked over to Natalie with his brother Dalvin, & his boys K-Ci & JoJo. "People like Devante & Natalie completely deserve each other." I said getting mad at the fact I would have to park across the school now."Come on, Lani. Let's just find another spot." Chris tried to calm me down.

"Ew, Stalkerrazzi at 3:00!" Andrea said. "The white zone is for cool people only! No geeks." Natalie said through her cheerleading megaphone. "Hey Natalie, come on." Devante said trying to stop her. "Hey, diner girl! Can I get two breakfast burritos for me & my brother?" K-Ci said. Vicky & Andrea just laughed at K-Ci's words like he was the funniest person ever.

"Please excuse my brother Lani, he's always hungry. With his fat ass, I'd want to be the one to apologize for his behavior." JoJo said. See, JoJo & I are friends. We're not the best of friends, but we are friends. We just don't spend a lot of time together because of our cliques.

I just smiled & nodded at JoJo while finding another spot to park at. After some time, Chris & I finally got inside the school & started walking towards our first class. "Now that I'm applying for Princeton, I just don't know what to do with that she-devil & her spawns of Satan." I said to Chris while putting my books in my locker.

"I know it's your dream but, not all dreams come true. Especially, in high school. If they did, I'd be with Natalie & I'd be a huge Hollywood star. But that shit might not happen." Chris said always shitting on everything. "Fuck that, one day, my dreams will come true. And I'm going to get out of here. We were walking till the bell rang & we ran into Marcus.

"Hi Marcus." I said smiling. "Lovely Lani, you look radiant today." Marcus said while grinning. We continued making small talk until he said his commander was calling him. "That guy is a total space case." Chris said. "Leave him alone, Christopher. Besides, he's happy doing what he loves." "Lani, I done told yo ass bout my government name. It's Chris aight?!" "Chris, you know I was just playing. Love you, witcho weak ass" I said rubbing his fade.

"Love you too, brace-faced little girl." Chris said rubbing my chin. My phone was beeping & I knew it was him. My admirer. "And the charmster comes to take our sweet Lani away." Chris said teasing me. I flipped him off while talking to my online crush.

After talking for a few minutes, the bell had rung & I went to class for a regular normal day.
