"You really believe that?" Sienna asked. I looked at Ben.
"Yes I do," I said something told me that this was all it was going to really take to get Ben to realize that we wouldn't work. That I was meant to be with Dane and he was meant to find someone else. Tamsen turned and looked at him.
"You won't force her to do anything?" I was shocked that she would think such bad things about Ben. He'd never forced me into anything.
"Tammy..." I started.
"He made you into a hooker the first time he met you. I'm just trying to make sure he doesn't have plans to do anything like that again," she said cutting me off.
"You don't know what you're talking about..."
"Oh so you didn't pay her to spend the week with you, after making her lose her job?"
"Yes he did. In directly, but he could have helped you not get fired. Instead he just made things worse."
"I'm not going to lie. I did those things and maybe at first it wasn't for the right reasons, but..." he stopped and met my eyes. "The first time I met your sister I couldn't get her off my mind. I couldn't stop thinking about her and all I could do was try and make the feelings that were coming from nowhere go away. I didn't know how to deal..."
"Spare me," Tamsen interrupted.
"I don't remember you being that rude the last time we met," Ben said looking at her.
"First impressions don't mean shit."
"Can you please behave yourselves?" I said finishing off the burger. "I don't suppose there's a milkshake hidden behind your back?"
"You're that calm about this?" Sienna asked.
"The way I see it, it's the only way to get rid of him," Ben didn't look happy to hear it, but that was the only reason I agreed to it.
I inhaled his scent. I'd missed it so much that now I was going to get my fill if it was the last thing I did. His hands rested on my hips as I wrapped my arms around his neck and finally our lips met in a fervent kiss. It had been too long since I'd felt this. Too long since I'd felt his arms around me. He lifted me and wrapped my legs around his waist. I gasped when I felt the wall behind me and he started kissing down my neck.
My gasp quickly turned into a scream as pain vibrated through my body causing me to shoot upright in the hospital bed. Nurses crowded into my room, but as they asked what was wrong I couldn't speak. Finally after a few moments the pain left and my body relaxed. I looked around the room and found that Dane was nowhere to be seen. In fact tonight was one of the rare nights where no one was there with me.
"Are you better now?" one of the Nurses said. I nodded and leaned back into the pillows.
"What the hell was that?" I asked trying to catch my breath.
"It seems you've been having contractions all night. I'm surprised you didn't wake hours ago," she said fluffing one of the pillows behind me. "Do you want me to call the father? I don't think it will be long now."
"Why do you ..." my words were cut off with a grunt as more pain assaulted me. She took my hand and started trying to coach me into breathing. Finally the pain stopped.
"They are starting to come faster, but your water still hasn't broken. I'll get the doctor. If you want anyone to be here you should call them now," she handed me the phone and left the room. I took a deep breath and tried to still my fears. The first person that came to mind for me to call was Dane, but I quickly dispelled that idea from my mind and dialed my father's number.
