Jessie's POV
Monday, the worst day of the week, came by so quickly. It was nearly the end of November here in London, so it was pretty chilly outside the streets of Kingston. I was currently heading to Greggs to grab a cup of coffee before starting another intense day at university. It was just 2 months ago that I got accepted into Kingston University, which for me was such an honour as this was a dream come true. I've been waiting for years for this to happen.

I walked up the steps that led to the front door of one of the most popular bakery around the UK, Greggs. As I step into the shop, I smelt a strong aroma of freshly baked pastries and coffee. People's chatter, laughter and soft music filled my ears as I head towards the queue of people that lined up in front of the register.

As soon as it was my turn to order, nervousness started taking over my body. I have always had the fear of talking to people I barely knew. I mean, I'm 19 so I guess it's normal to have social anxiety, right?

"Hiya! What can I get for you today?" the girl asked me with a wide genuine smile. God, how can someone be so happy in the morning, I thought. I quickly pushed the thought out of my head and replied, "Hello, can I please get a butter croissant and a flat white, please." I managed to keep a small smile plastered across my face.

As I got my order from the barista, I thanked him without looking and stride towards the exit. I continued my walk to the university while taking a few sips of my freshly brewed coffee and savour the cold wind brushing my face.

After a few short minutes, I finally arrived at the building. I opened the glass doors and stood for a second, sighing deeply. Time to hustle Jess, I thought to myself.
