I Need To Fix This Somehow

Ian's POV

After hearing that weird broadcast, Shadow started scratching at the door. "Settle down, boy! You're gonna get caught!" I said, trying to calm him down.

But the Grimm ignored me and started howling. Two seconds later, he jumped out the window. "Damn it!"

I took out my scroll to call Lily that Shadow had gotten out, but her scroll went straight to voicemail. "Of all the times to not answer her scroll! Can this day get any worse?"

I looked out the window and saw the place getting overrun with Grimm, Atlesian Knights, and members of the White Fang. Not to mention, the whole place was in flames. "I had to ask." I mumbled.

I got my weapon and jumped out the window to fight off the Grimm.

Lily's POV

"Ruby! Yang, where are you?" I called as I ran. I tried calling them with my scroll, but it wasn't in my pocket. Where did it go? Did I drop it?

Looks like I'll have to do without. When I got to the courtyard, I found Sun and other students fighting off the Grimm and some Atlesian Knights.

"Sun!" I called. "Lily, what are you doing here?! You need to get to safety!" He said. "Where's Yang? Ruby?" I asked worried.

"I don't know! Ruby was with us, but she jumped out of the ship! I think she's up there!" He said, pointing to one of the Atlas airships in the sky.

I looked up at one of the airships in worry. "Ruby..." I don't know what's she's doing up there, but I'm scared she won't come back. But how do I get up there?

That's when I got an idea. I put two of my pinkies near my mouth and whistled for a Griffon. It landed in front of me and let out a screech. "Easy, boy. Easy..." I said to it.

Cautiously, I approached it and petted its beak. It chirped softly, and I sighed in relief, knowing it wasn't going to hurt me.

"Whoa! How did you do that?" Sun said. "I'll explain later! I'm going after my sister!" I said while mounting the Griffon.

Once I was on, the Griffon took off into the sky and flew towards the Atlas airship. Where are you, where are you? I thought while searching for Ruby.

I spotted her being beaten by Roman and her Crescent Rose was hanging off the side of the ship. "No!" I yelled.

I made the Griffon fly around the ship so I grab Ruby's scythe, then land behind Roman. "Leave her alone!"

The Griffon grabbed Roman and swallowed him whole before letting out a screech. "Lily..?" Ruby said in disbelief.

"Ruby, come on! We have to get out of here! The ship's gonna blow!" I held my hand out to her. She grabbed it and I pulled her onto the Griffon so she sat behind me.

"To Beacon." I ordered the Griffon. "Lily, this... this is incredible!" Ruby said. Although I enjoyed her praise, it didn't make me feel better.

When we landed, we dismounted from the Griffon. I looked around as Grimm roamed free, attacking anything in sight. 

"Did I do this?" I asked aloud. "Am I the reason this happened?"

"Lily, are you okay?" Ruby asked while putting her hand on my shoulder. "I... I don't know." I replied. 

"The Grimm are roaming about, but... This isn't how I wanted it to be. I know I didn't cause this, so why... why do I feel so guilty? Why do I feel responsible?"

"Lily, listen to me," Ruby turned me around so I was facing her. "None of this is your fault. You had nothing to do with this." She assured.

"But... But Cinder said that I did this. She said if you want something bad enough, some sacrifices need to be made. And now I feel like people are getting hurt because of me."

"Lily, I know you're not responsible for this, and you know you're not responsible for this. All of this is because of her. And we need to make sure that nobody else gets hurt."

I looked down with worry before nodding in agreement. "Let's go." I said.
