"Addy."

Adeline Hale looks up from her book to see Derek standing beside her door frame. She was sitting on her bed and she closed her book giving her brother her full attention.

"Derek." Addy says raising an eyebrow with a small smile.

"Have you heard from Laura recently?" Derek asks and Addy sighs shaking her head.

"No, I was going to try to call her tomorrow morning." Addy says and Derek walks into her room and sits on the edge of her bed.

"Addy she's been gone for two weeks, without any texts or phone calls," Derek starts and Addy knew where this was going, "we have to go back to Beacon Hills and see if she's alright." Derek explains and Addy shook her head.

"No, I am not going back to that town." Addy says and Derek sighs.

"Adds..."

"No Derek. You don't get it, I can't go back there." Addy says sternly and Derek takes one of her hands in his.

"You know I won't let anything happen to you while we are there." Derek says gently seeing the fear in his younger sisters eyes.

Derek Hale loved his younger sister with his whole heart. Addy was always his favorite sibling, and when the fire happened and he found her crying in the woods he felt even more sense of protectiveness over her. She was quite literally the only thing that kept him going, and kept him sane.

"I can't, Derek I can't." Addy whispers scared.

"Addy you're not nine years old anymore. Laura needs our help." Derek says gently and Addy looks at him.

"Don't take me back to the house." Addy says and Derek nods his head.

"I promise you don't have to go anywhere near it." Derek says gently and Addy gave him a small smile.

When the two Hales got to Beacon Hills Addy couldn't help but shudder at the thought of being back in the town where almost her whole family was killed.

"You okay Adds?" Derek asks glancing at his sister.

"Yeah, let's just get to the motel."
Addy whispers resting her head against the car window.

When they made it to the motel it was night fall already. Addy was exhausted and all she wanted to do was crawl into a bed and sleep. Derek carried their bags to their room and Addy face planted onto the bed groaning.

"I'm going to go and look for Laura in the woods, she's probably out there." Derek says and Addy lifts her hand up with her thumb up.

"You going to be okay by yourself?" Derek asks and Addy groans in response. Derek laughs lightly and leaves the motel room and makes his way to the woods.

The next morning Addy woke up alone in the motel room, which worried her slightly.

She grabbed her phone from the bedside table and was about to click Dereks name but the motel door opened and Addy turned to Derek quickly.

"Der why are you covered in dirt?" Addy asks concerned standing up from the bed.

Derek closes the the motel door and walks over to Addy.

"Did you find Laura?" Addy asks.

Derek pulled Addy into a tight hug holding onto her tightly, tears welling up in his eyes and Addy hugged him back.

"Der?"

"She's gone." Derek whispers and Addy felt her heart stop.

"She's gone." Derek cries and Addy bit her lip letting the tears fall as Derek held onto her tightly.

"There's a new alpha in town, I take it they got their power from killing Laura." Derek explains gently.

"I buried her by the house, no one would find her there." Derek whispers gently combing his fingers through her brown hair as a cry left her lips.

"Can we go home now?" Addy cries and a sigh left Dereks lips.

"No, we have to stay. There's an alpha here and last night it bit someone." Derek whispers.

"Why does that mean we have to stay? I want to go home." Addy says.

"Because that alpha killed Laura, they ripped her in half Addy and Im not going to let whoever it is get away with it." Derek says and Addy sighs holding onto her brother tighter.

"That also means I have to enroll you in High school, and find us somewhere to live." Derek sighs and Addy didn't reply.

She just continued holding onto Derek scared to let go. Addy couldn't help but know that Derek was right, someone murdered her sister and they can't get away with it.
