"Whoever blushes is already guilty; true innocence is ashamed of nothing." -Jean-Jacques Rousseau

FOR POSSIBLY THE thirtieth time this moment, Alissa turned around to the side on our bed.

"It hurts," she whined after groaning exasperatedly.

Sheesh, we get it, I thought.

I don't know what it was that Alissa ate at the carnival, but it made her feel nauseous. Even my sickness was nowhere near this bad (but let's not forget how ridiculously I spoke).

"Seriously, what did you give her?" Tyler whispered to Aaron. For a while, both Alissa and Aaron had gone someplace-I'm afraid to ask why.

What else would be the reason she threw up in the middle of the night?

"I told you, all we did was drink milkshakes. The same exact flavors from the same exact place we did," he replied.

"Did she eat anything else?" asked Elliot.

"No. I-I don't know! I'm not her babysitter."

"It must be something she ate," I told him, "it's the only logical reason why."

"We were eating after riding the Ferris wheel. Oh, God," said Terrence suddenly, his face beaming with realization. "That reminds me, wasn't it scary when it stopped all of a sudden?"

"It scared the crap out of me," replied Elliot.

"Hell-oh!" yelled Alissa between coughs, trying to gain our attention. "I'm dying here!"

I know I shouldn't feel this way, but I didn't see her caring when I was sick. She was the reason I got a cold in the first place.

"Your mom told you to go out, have some fresh air. Also, you should eat some-"

"Willa, I can't eat anything. That's kind of the last thing a person who threw up would do."

"But you can't just die of starv-"

"Whatever!" she shouted in fury. "I didn't expect you to understand, anyway."

Oh, you are so lucky you're sick right now.

I think the twins picked up my anger because they declared that we should leave the suite, and I was the first to be ushered out.

"Even when she's sick..." I heard Elliot mutter under his breath, and even a moron could tell it was directed to me.

"What?" I asked him.

"Yeah, you heard me, right? Even when Alissa's sick you act like a bitch."

The hotel lobby might as well be a wrestling ring.

"Oh, so you didn't notice how she acted towards me when I was sick?" Words couldn't really describe the emotion I was feeling. Was it jealousy, or sadness, or anger, or disbelief?

It's always been 'Alissa this' and 'Alissa that.' "What about how she was the cause for my sickness, too?"

I didn't get a reply from him, and I was unsure if it was because of pity, anger, or the fact that I had a point. The twins and Aaron just stared at us like it was the first time they had seen an argument.

"Hey," called Aaron, "why don't we just focus on how she got sick?"

Elliot and Terrence have him mocking looks, smiling. "So, you want to talk about yourself?"
