chapter 3

The end of the week came quick, it seemed I was in most my classes with Jax, that was odd though because hardly anyone got put straight into top set let alone into top set in all lessons bar 3. But I wasn't complaining, well occasionally I complained that he wasn't in all my classes but that was only when the class came. I sat next to him in all our classes as I was really the only person he knew when he was put in place. The teachers all love him and he is one hell of a smart kid. Mr Elliott even whispered to me that we were a perfect couple! Weird! Creepy even.

I went with him everywhere and when I asked if I was being a pain he just smiled that adorable smile and changed the subject. So I didn't leave, I don't think I'd be able too even if I'd wanted to. I was having a hard time trying to keep my hands from him, sometimes I reached for his hand but I stopped myself from touching it quickly. I was in love with him, there was no doubt about that. I wanted to be with him every minute of the day and when I wasn't with him all i could think about was him!

"Courtney, can you do the washing up tonight?" Mum called up the stairs.

"No mum I already told you! I'm going out!"

"Oh of course, with your date! What time?" I thought about arguing but it was true. He was my date.

"Well as long as your getting ready! And don't wear anything inappropriate, it's only your first date!" Of course mum would say that, of course she would!

My nervousness was building and I couldn't keep it down. I walked back to the mirror and checked my Fishtail plait, again. I sprayed more hair spray on it to make sure it didn't come loose. I checked my make up and applied more blush hoping it would hide the blush that was bound to come at some point.

I can't get the picture of him out of my head. Would he wear jeans and a top? Would he wear a shirt maybe? Oh I didn't know. I have dresses my self in a loose top that is low on my shoulders and mid length sleeves with skinny black jeans that show the length of my legs. Downstairs my healed boots waited and my leather jacket. I didn't own any dresses or skirts so I didn't wear one, not that I would have anyway.

There was a knock at the door and my heart pounded. I heard mum opening the door and voices.

"Courtney there's someone for you!" I walked down the stairs, trying not to run. I was desperate to see him again.

"Hey Courtney, you ready?" I couldn't reply. He was dressed in what looked almost casual but that just made him look gorgeous. He wore a black shirt with the top button undone, denim jeans and a denim jacket that wasn't done up.

"Courtney?" Mum wasn't really worried. She sounded like she was about to cry herself. I tore my eyes from the angel standing on my doorstep.

"Mum? What's wrong?" I rushed over to her almost forgetting him. Almost.

"Nothing, nothing. It's just your growing up so fast and now your going on a date! A real date!"

"Oh god mum." I stepped back and threw on my jacket and pulled on my heels. "Goodbye mum. I'll be back before 10."

"Ok ok, just be sensible ok? And look after her." She said the last part to Jax.

"Of course mam," mum smiled at that.

"Bye mum," I walked out the door before mum could set anymore rules. The door swung shut behind me. I was standing next to Jax, almost touching.

"At last," he whispered.

"Was she really that bad?"

"No no your mum's fine but we're alone, for the first time." Omg of course. This was the first time we had some privacy, there was always someone else in the corridors and we split up after school. It was just me and him. I couldn't speak. "I am really sorry, I know this is our first date and all, but I might not be able to help myself. You don't mind if I kiss you do you? Even if it's an accident?"

My tongue wouldn't do what I asked so I just shook my head. I wanted to kiss him right there right then.

But then he was sweeping me down my path towards the car parked outside... a jaguar!! A shiny black jaguar was sitting waiting for us, at first I was sure the neighbors had brought themself a new car but then the lights lit up and I saw the keys in Jax's hand.

"Thats your car!?"

"Oh yeah," he smiled as he opened the passenger door for me.

"How did I not know you owned a jaguar?!" I asked climbing into the car. The seats were also black and leather.

He closed the door and was quickly in the seat next to me.

"It was my dad's," I waited for something further but wasn't surprised when nothing more came. I knew nothing about his parents apart from his mum and dad were divorced and he hadn't seen his father in years.

The jaguar came to life, purring under me. I had never been in a car with Jax but even by the time we were half way down my road I could tell he was a great driver.

"How long have you been driving?"

"Well I taught myself really, mum doesn't drive so I took a test as soon as I turned 17 so I've had a license half a year but I did drive a bit before that too."

"Wow, I should just get you to take me everywhere, instead of driving mum's car around all the time." He looked at me but the car never even slightly moved from the centre of our lane.

"I would be honored," I loved it when he acted so old.

"How am I supposed to compare to you?"

"What do you mean?"

"You're so perfect, kind, gentle, funny... hot," I whispered the last word hoping he wouldn't hear it.

"Oh?" He heard, "you think I'm hot do you?" I was suddenly glad for the blusher.

"How could I not. Every girl that lays eyes on you does. And most of them are allot better for you than me. What am I to you?"

"Don't you dare think for a second that I would prefer one of them to you because they are hotter than you. Because a they are not# and b even if they were they are nothing on you! You are always kind and honest, never worrying about how you look, until now, and don't smell of smoke or alcohol! Do you know how hard it is to find a perfect girl?"  I was pretty sure he had just called me perfect. My heart was jumping in my chest and I didn't even know why.

The restaurant we are going to isn't far from my mum's house so it wasn't a long trip. We were pulling into the parking lot and I still hadn't been able to reply.

Jax pulled smoothly into a space, turned off the engine and got out. I tried to open my door but he was already there pulling it open for me.

"Thank you." He held out his hand and I took it. My skin tingled were his met mine. I tried to let go when I got out but he pulled me up against his chest. My heart raced.

"Courtney. I love you." My breathing was fast and I couldn't think straight. All I could smell was him. All I could see was him. And all I could feel was him pressed against me.

"I love you too." And then it happened. He lent down and I stood on my toes. I closed my eyes as our lips met. He kissed me and I kissed him. Nothing mattered but us, I didn't care where we were or what time it was. He filled me and I tried hard to fill him. My whole body wanted nothing but him. My arms wrapped around his neck and his hands held my hips. We kissed for what seemed like hours but still ended too quickly. He pulled away and looked into my eyes and I looked into his. I had never felt like this towards anyone, I loved him and I don't think I could feel like this towards anyone else. Our breaths were fast.

"I love you," he said it with more confidence than before but I couldn't reply. I was trying not to kiss him again. "Should we go inside?" Oh.

"Yeah." We pulled apart but our hands didn't separate. I could feel his warm skin against mine like electric. As we walked I looked up at him. His eyes are still hypnotic but his hair is brushed. At school it is always just left hanging over his eyes not today it is pushed back of his face.
