Evening had gotten over the Academy of Gifted Juveniles. Maki and Kaito were still in the Courtyard, and she showed him many techniques that were used when her mission required the secret elimination of a target. Not including the eliminating part, of course.

Kaito was drenched in sweat, and begged his girlfriend for a timeout.

"You're really not trained for going into space," Maki neutrally remarked. "There's no gravity in space, so I don't need as much muscle there as I do here anyway." Maki could only facepalm as she heard this exceedingly stupid line.

The two sat on the bench where Kaito and Shuichi also trained together, and Kaito looked at his watch. "It's almost 10, shall we call it a day?" the Ultimate Astronaut asked. Maki stood up, spotting a silhouette behind Kaito. "I think we're still needed."

She pointed behind him, where the Ultimate Supreme Leader interrupted their togetherness for the second time. "What are you doing here again, half-pint?" Maki asked annoyed, as Kokichi stepped around the bench to stand in front of the two. His look was hard to interpret, partly angry and confused. Kaito quickly realized the seriousness of the situation, and approached the little boy.

"What can we help you-" "Who is Saihara-chan in love with?", Kokichi asked, coming straight to the point. The Ultimate Astronaut and Ultimate Assassin drew in their breaths sharply at the same time.

While Kaito stammered to himself, Maki decided not to make the situation more complicated than it already was.

"It's not about who he's in love with. It's about Saihara breaking himself thinking that being gay is bad and that his crush can't stand him."

"Ooooh, so Saihara-chan isn't in love with Kaede at all?"

Maki slapped her hand over her face. "No, he's not," Kaito replied. "But as his best friend, I wish he would get better soon." Kokichi looked at him with narrowed eyes. "Saihara-chan is my best friend," he hoisted in the astronaut's direction.

Maki just rolled her eyes and looked back and forth between the two boys. "Was that all you wanted?" she asked, annoyed.

"No," Kokichi began shyly. He lowered his gaze, his cheeks visibly flushed. "I-I want Saihara-chan to fall in love with me," he finally finished his sentence.

Kaito's mouth was open, and Maki showed some astonishment as well, even though that was a rare occurrence with her.

"Y-you, you're in love with Saihara???" inquired Kaito again to make sure he hadn't just misheard.

"S-Shhh... or someone will hear this," Kokichi covered the Ultimate Astronaut's mouth and put a finger to his lips.

"Yes, I like Saihara-chan. And I already have a perfect plan how I can win him over. However, I need your help with that. And not only yours, nee-hehe."

Kokichi chuckled and winked at the two, who had no clue what the Ultimate Supreme Leader was up to in order to win the Ultimate Detective's heart.

Ding! Dong! Bing! Bong! (BABEY!!! - yes, I'm gonna do this every time I write this)

Shuichi awoke from his deep sleep, amazingly he hadn't had a bad dream even though Kokichi had seen him in such a bad state yesterday.

Blinded by the sun's rays shining in, the detective rolled over in bed until his face was in shadow again. He stretched with pleasure before slowly lifting himself out of bed and putting on his clothes.

His cap, which Kokichi actually hadn't wanted to give back to him until they did something together, was on his nightstand. He took it in his hands and noticed an unfamiliar smell. Was that Kokichi's smell?

Embarrassed at the thought of the Ultimate Supreme Leader wearing his cap, Shuichi couldn't help but grin widely. He put it on, and Kokichi's gentle scent played around his nose. Then he left his dorm room.

In front of his door on the floor lay a note, which Shuichi noticed only when he had almost stepped on it. In a messy and seemingly hurried writing a few words were scribbled on it.

Saihara-chanPlease meet me today after class at a secret place, I have to discuss something important with you. You will find out the details soon. See you later!-Kokichi Ouma

Confused, Shuichi looked around the hallway, but only spotted one person leaning against a wall near the Dorm Rooms, humming something to himself. "Good morning, Saihara!", Kaede greeted kindly and smiled broadly while waving at him.

"Good morning, Akamatsu. Do you know where Ouma is?" the detective asked curiously when he spotted Kaede's prompting look.

"No, I'm afraid not. But I composed a new piece on the piano, and I would like you to listen to it," she beamed. Kaede was the Ultimate Pianist, so it shouldn't surprise Shuichi if she composed a piece of her own, but this statement still surprised him a little. "Hmm, actually I'd love to, but we have to go to class first."

Shuichi was just turning to leave when Kaede hooked herself onto his arm and chuckled. "Geez, Saihara. Did you forget that the teachers are on in-service training? We don't have classes today, come on!" Before the detective could say anything back, she pulled him with her to the second floor where her Research Lab was located.

As soon as she locked open the door, Shuichi's eyes met those of a familiar person.

Rantaro was casually sitting on a stool next to the piano, reading something off a paper. When he heard the door, he looked up and gave Shuichi a relaxed wave. The detective looked back and forth between the two in confusion until Kaede sat down at the piano with a smile and whispered to Rantaro before she began to play.

It was a peaceful-sounding piano song, and Kaede beamed as her fingers danced across the keys. After a while, Rantaro joined in, slowly humming a few lines of lyrics to the melody of the piano.

I know your little secret
my sweet Saihara-chan
But you hide it so deep in
I can't tell when it began

You want to know where I hide
But there's no way I'll tell
'Cuz that's part of my spell
And all hints are denied

Now go where legs take you at night
Where you've seen what you should forget
Your friend keeps up with you not quite
Leaving your body drenched in sweat

Regarding what you should not see
Two stupid students spilled their tea
By being inappropriate
The thought brings me down to my knees

(A/N: Please excuse my horrible lyrics, I can't write poems for the life of me)

Shuichi frowned and watched as Rantaro sang the embarrassing song lyrics and tapped the piano in rhythm to them.

No sooner was the song over than Shuichi's gaze met those of the Ultimate Pianist. "The lyrics were written by Ouma, so I won't take any responsibility if it sounded like crap," Rantaro remarked, receiving a shin kick from Kaede.

Shuichi raised his eyebrows and thought about the song lyrics for a few seconds.

"Part of his spell," Shuichi muttered to himself, trying to analyze the song lyrics he had ever so quickly memorized.

"Do you really want me to find out where he's hiding from solving a riddle?" the detective asked with an annoyed expression. Kaede nodded. "He wants you to solve his mystery, and since you're the Ultimate Detective, that shouldn't be a difficult task for you, right?" She winked at him once before putting the cover back over the piano keys and standing up.

"Go where the song leads you, you'll get another clue there," she crooned, pushing Shuichi out into the hallway.

The detective just looked puzzled at the now closed door to the Ultimate Pianist Lab before sighing and slowly walking back the way he had just come up.
