~Death's P.O.V.~

I waved to Shiemi and left out through the door that lead to outside, to a special place actually. I left the door cracked and walked farther into the big open dome that Mephisto had built for my father when he was a bit younger. I looked at all the perches that went up and down the dome, it looked kind of like a bird cage. I lurked over to the daisies in a big stone holder, they were so beautiful, they reminded me of my mom before I learned to talk. I giggled at my inside joke and picked a daisy to sniff, "So beautiful..." I warmed my hand slightly and the flower caught fire, "Yet... so frail," I whispered bluntly. The flower wilted and turned to ash landing on the cobblestone ground.

My ears perked from under my hair as I heard loud thumping footsteps coming closer. I blew the ash under the ledge of the holder and jumped up onto the closest ledge, there I waited for the trace of the footsteps to come in. I saw the navy haired kid run past the door, but then the steps stopped. I held my already shallow breath as his now slow steps came closer and closer. His head peeked in the door looking as if he were looking for something, the daisies caught his attention. He walked over to the daisies and looked them over, a sketchy look on his face. He then turned around and followed the perches up the dome, each one seemed to make him more curious. I watched his body language carefully, each flick of his head, his feet and his arms were my first priority. When his legs started up in an unbalanced, running kind of way I knew he was going to jump onto the perch, so I made my move. I came down from the perch and turned my face into a bored looking one, "Hey, kid, what is it?" He turned around fearfully, his arms flailing, "I- I'M! Oh... Oh, it's you. I was just exploring... I've never seen this room before." I kept a straight face, "It was my dad's private room. Mephisto made it for him," my tongue floated across my sharp fangs in an attempt to hide them. The kid smiled and came a bit closer, "So, your dad knew that crazy man?" he chuckled. I nodded and sat down on the bench behind me, "That's right... Oh by the way my name's Death, thanks for asking." His smile fell and he held his arms up defensively, "L-Like... the death!? The reaper!?" I laughed, "That's funny, but no." His arms fell and he relaxed his muscles, "Oh... Sorry. I'm Rin!" his smile quickly came back. 'What is it with this kid?' I wondered in my head, "Nice to meet you, Rin," I said. He smiled and put his arms behind his head, "So.... Wanna get something to eat?" he smiled wider. 'Okay... He's cute, I'll give him that,' I smiled, "Of course, I'm starving!" I started to loosen up.

He lead the way outside and towards the dorms, "Where are we going, might I ask?" He just smiled and kept walking towards the dorms. We reached an old run-down dorm, the dorm I was staying in. I cleared my throat, "So, Rin, why are we at the old boys dorm?" He fumbled around his his pockets, "This is my dorm, I'm gonna cook something for us..." he mumbled pulling out the key. I barely caught his words, still thinking about the fact that I was living with a boy in my dorm, but still he grabbed my arm and pulled me into the dorm chuckling. He spun into the food room and pulled on his little apron, his adorable little apron, 'Don't get attached!' I screamed to myself in my head. He quickly got all the ingrediants. I searched through my whole memory trying to figure out what he was cooking, I looked through all my memories of food and remembered seeing my mom get all of these ingrediants to make udon, "Are you making Udon Soup?" I asked curiously. He looked at me, a smile spread across his face, "Yes I am! Why? Do you like it?" his smile weakened. I smiled, "Oh it's my favorite!" I said clapping. His smile came back and I noticed, fangs? That can't be possible... I looked to his ears, pointed... 'He's a demon!?' the inside of me paniced, while my outer just sat there excited. My mind was happy, yet scared, 'He's a demon like me! But... what if he isn't like me? Should I ask him? No! I have to know. No!' the two voices inside me fought eachother, but soon the side wanting to know won.

My ears tilted back to hear the door opening, I looked in my side vision to see... Mr. Okumura!? Oh... wait... I looked over him, he also had pointed ears... very pointy indeed... 'HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE DEMONS!?' my mind screamed. He walked in and sat down with me, "Hello Ms. Nigami," he said said and laid his case on the table. "Hi Mr. Okumura, oh, please call me Death," I smiled. His glassed flashed over at my statement but he quickly went back to unlocking his case. "His name's Yukio, we're brothers," Rin giggled, great make that two boys in my dorm. 'Dang.. That laugh was adorable... I need to know if they're like me!' the voice was screeching now, as loud as a siren. Yukio got the case open and pulled out a few pictures. Rin turned on the stove and went back to preparing the vegetables, "Almost ready!" I smiled but then turned my attention back to Yukio, I couldn't see the pictures clearly but I wanted to. I screamed at myself not to but curiosity got the best of me as I looked over at the pictures, my eyes slightly widened as I saw blood everywhere. Yukio looked at me staring and handed a picture to me, "You can look, it's a demon crime scene, is what they told me." I looked at the picture, examining each detail, "Tell me, Yukio, do you know what did this? Or... have any info?" I said slightly above a whisper. He sighed, "We don't know what for sure but we do know that the smell in the room was bad. It smelled like rot and guts." I held my hand out to him, "Can I see a picture of any bodies that were there?" I set the picture I was looking at on the table and grabbed the one he handed me. I looked closely, each detail, each splatter of blood... "Aha!" said a bit too loudly. Rin looked at me as if I was crazy, but went back to scooping the noodles out and into three bowls. I held the picture near Yukio and pointed, "See the squeezed stomach? It's a spiked hoof," I followed the U-like shape with my finger. He rubbed his hand on his forehead, "Holy.... So now we just need to figure out wh-" I stopped him with my hand, a smile on my face, "It's definitely a Nightmare, but add the stench and you got a Decaying Nightmare!" I moved my hand away from Yukio's mouth and pumped it. He seemed confused but happy, "Well thank you for telling me, but are you sure?" I nodded wildly, "Of course! It all adds up!" I continued to talk while Rin brought in the bowls and sat them around, "Enjoy," he laughed. I relaxed again and laughed, "Yukio!! You have to take me to the Nightmare! I've always wanted one!!" Rin scooped the noodles into his mouth, barely taking a breath, while Yukio sat eating slowly, "Well... I mean, you just got here, and out of nowhere you want a Nightmare... not to mention a decaying one, for a pet?" he seemed to be on edge as he said it. I smiled and shook my head, "Yes, yes, pleeeeaaase!?" I looked to the noodles and couldn't help but eat a few before looking back to Yukio, a noodle hanging out of my mouth. He sighed again and pushed his glasses up on his face, "I'll think about it." I quietly cheered then turned back to my noodles and ate away, enjoying every bit.

The next five or so minutes were quiet before I got my courage up, "So, are you two demons?" I blurted out. Everything went dead silent and I looked beside me to see a gun to my head, Yukio was holding it. I stayed calm with a straight face. Rin froze with his last bite of noodles half way to his mouth. Yukio's glasses were shined over so I couldn't see his eyes, "Who told you?" he demanded. I stood up, his gun followed me, "Nobody. I just learn fast..." I smirked and flicked his long pointed ear, "Maybe these helped me?" He sighed and rubbed his ear, "So? Nobody can tell that easily. Most think it's cosplay," Rin said in defense of his brother. Yukio clicked the gun back loading it, "That doesn't matter tell us how you knew... now!" he raised his voice. I put my hands up, "Just listen." 'Should I show them that I'm a demon?' one voice whispered. 'I don't think I should...' said another. 'But the gun...' the voices fought. What did I get into?
