He said he was going to pick you up, you sent him your address. I'm sure it'll be okay.(Y/n) reminded herself, taking a deep breath. She stared at herself in the bathroom mirror, she had applied a bit of make up to her face, mostly to give off a red tint to her face. It'll be good fun.

"Nesan, why are you all dressed up?" Aika pouted.

"I'm going out tonight." (Y/n) pouted, kneeling down next to her sister. "Bachan is going to come pick you up in a few minutes, I need you to be on your best behaviour."

"Why can't I go with you?" Aika crossed her arms over her chest.

"Because I'm going on a date, I promise I won't be too long. It'll only be for a few hours. When I get back, we can watch a movie, okay?"

Aika huffed but nodded slightly in agreement. (Y/n) ruffled her sisters hair, before she looked at herself in the mirror. Am I too dressed up? She had decided on a casual skirt and long sleeved shirt. Will it be too cold??

Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the front door. She walked downstairs, slowly opening the door. (Y/n) peeked outside, staring at the boy who stood there in silence. Her smile appeared, as she watched the boy. Kita stood in the doorway, his hands hiding in the pockets of his jacket. His eyes travelled from her shoes to her face, his cheeks warming up.

"You're stunning."

"Not too bad yourself." She teased, a smile on her face. "Where are we going?"

"Well, I thought maybe we could go to the street market?" (Y/n)'s smile beamed.

"That sounds fantastic." She looked into the house. "I'm heading off now Aika, be good for Bachan, okay?"

"No promises!" (Y/n) rolled her eyes at her younger siblings words. She studied Kita for a moment before she took his hand.

"Let's go."

(Y/n) and Kita walked hand in hand through the night market, the sun beginning to set. (Y/n) couldn't help but keep going to each stall, showing off all of the foods to Kita. She kept offering to buy them but he had refused to let her pay for anything.

"Look at this, it's so cute!" She pointed out a small box of Mochi that looked like tiny bears. (Y/n)'s smile beamed as she picked the box up. "Let me pay for these-"

"I don't mind." Kita had already grabbed his wallet out of his pocket. (Y/n) pouted slightly at the boy.

"I mind."

"Let me treat you." He smiled softly as he paid. "I want to show you something."

(Y/n) nodded, following after the boy. She held onto his hand as they navigated the crowd. She held onto the small box of mochi, following closely behind Kita. He stopped by a bike, looking to her. "Get on."

She tilted her head. "On the bike?"

Kita nodded as he sat down. (Y/n) was hesitant but sat on the basket area at the back of the bike, her arms wrapping around Kita's waist. "Hold on."

As the boy pedalled through the streets, (Y/n) held onto his back, mostly for dear life. Where is he taking me?

Kita stopped the bike at the bottom of a hill, putting the stand up. (Y/n) looked around in confusion. "Where are we?"

He didn't answer as he got off of the bike, his eyes studying her. "Follow me."

(Y/n) hesitantly followed the boy, her feet moving slightly. Is this how I die? At the bottom of a hill? She huffed softly in annoyance. No, Kita would never... Would he?

Kita took ahold of her hand before he walked up the hill. "Watch your step." (Y/n) obeyed, being cautious of where she walked. She looked around in confusion, staring at the hill. Kita used his hand, gently moving her chin to adjust her gaze. The hill looked over Hyogo, showing the lights of the city. The stars in full view in the sky.

"Wow." Was all she could manage to say, her eyes wide. Kita chuckled softly as he sat down on the grass. (Y/n) sat beside the boy. The two sat in silence.

"Reminds me of when we met at the Miya twins party."

"Please don't remind me about that." (Y/n) rubbed the back of her neck. "I'm sorry for walking in on your changing."

"I was mostly talking about how we sat outside and gazed among the stars." Kita looked to her, a smile on his lips. "But now that you mention it..."

"Don't mention it." (Y/n) huffed, her gaze studying Kita. "Why'd you bring me here?"

Kita thought to himself as he laid back on the grass. "This is my happy place, I wanted to show you it."

"Your happy place?"

"Yeah. After a long or stressful day, I like to come here and stare at the stars." Kita explained "I thought you might like it here."

(Y/n) smiled brightly "it's beautiful."

It became quiet between the two, a comforting silence. Kita took a deep breath.

"(Y/n), I want to make a promise to you."

"What?"

Kita studied her eyes for a moment. "I promise that I will never hurt you... I know I'm not very talented and I don't have very big goals, but I want to be there for you. I want to give you all the happiness that you deserve."

"I want to become a rice farmer, so I want you to give me a year after I finish exams, to get my life sorted out. I want to give you a life that you deserve."

(Y/n) studied the boy, her smile widening. "Shinsuke... You don't need to do that. We have out whole lives to figure out what we want to do."

"One day, I'm going to ask you to marry me."

It became silent for another moment, but was broken by a quiet mumble. "I would like that."

The two sat on the hill, staring up at the stars. They had a life ahead of them, they didn't need to know where they were heading, only that they were heading forward.
