I gave her a half-assed wave back, and then promptly buried my face in my hands.
"Sorry about all that..." I said, giving Todoroki an apologetic glance. "She seems to really enjoy shipping us."
Todoroki cocked his head to one side. "Shipping...?"
I suppressed a laugh. "Uh... It just means she wants to see us as a couple. Ever since... well, like four days ago, she's been teasing me about it for no reason."
"I see..." He muttered quietly, using his chopsticks to pick up what looked like a hot dog transformed into an octopus and popping it into his mouth.
"Ah, that's even cuter than yesterday's! Your sister's really outdone herself." I exclaimed.
Todoroki paused for a minute and glanced at the remaining octopi, which were arranged on top of a thick bed of lettuce. "Oh... I hadn't really noticed. I don't feel the need to compare the two; I think they're equally cute."
Whatever stupid remark I was about to make died in my throat as I watched Todoroki munching on his food, apparently oblivious to the weirdness that just came out of his mouth.
This guy is a little too cute for his own good... He's like a himbo but... slightly smarter than that. Seriously, does he even realize how adorable that last sentence was?
I allowed myself a little chuckle. So this must be why all the girls like him so much.
"Did I say something funny?" Todoroki asked.
"Ah... No, nothing. I was just thinking about something I heard earlier, that's all."
His gaze lingered for a moment longer, and then he turned back to his food. "I see."
Well, now that that's been dealt with... School cafeteria milkshake, you shall be mine!

"Jiro, let it go already!" I said, scowling as the two of us left the classroom. "I already told you I don't have a crush on him!"
Jiro grinned as if she knew some special secret that I couldn't figure out, and slung her bag over her shoulder. "I just think it's interesting how you've only been here for a week and you've already taken such a liking to Todoroki... Who just happens to be one of the most handsome guys at this school."
That's besides the fact... Clearly the thought that I might just be making nice to find out his weaknesses never crossed this girl's mind.
I sighed and rubbed my temples in frustration. "I get how it looks, but it's not what you think. I'm just making friends, and he's not a very high energy person so it's easy to hang out with him."
Jiro rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever. Just promise me that if you end up with him, you'll tell me?"
"Oh, of course," I laughed sardonically.
Jiro and I made our way down the halls and finally reached the main doors. Students were filing out, leaving the doors wide open and allowing a slight breeze to rush inside. I hummed softly as the cool air rushed past my ears, and felt a pleasant shiver run down my spine at the sudden chill. I'd never really been able to appreciate wind before; When I had long hair, the wind would blow it into my face and try to make me choke on it. Now that it had been cut, I didn't have to constantly be aware of what direction the wind was coming from, or worry about my weave being snatched off my head by such foul weather.
"Alright... I'll see you later, (L/n)."
I broke my train of thought and looked over at Jiro, who was now waving goodbye and heading over to meet Yaoyorozu. I waved back and sighed in relief.
