The final sacrifice (Chapter 6 part 3)

Start from the beginning

Monokuma: ... Keheheh... interesting. Beary interesting indeed!

Makoto: Beary?

Monokuma: Oh, I was gettin bored, so I decided to change things up a little. So, time for ebar jokes! Now, what you've suggested might be pawsible. I would certainly make for one honey of a climax!

Kyoko: Does that mean you accept?

Monokuma: If we do things your way, that's ll be enough to convince you *and* the viewers, right? And it would cause you unbearable despair, right? Then I'm prebeared to agree to your terms! Will your hope win out? Or will my desbear claim victory...? Let's have on final grizly showdown! Bu thtis is the long-awaited climax, right? Just guessing the killer is bearly a fitting end. So for this final face-off, you'll have to unearth all the mysteries that have bearied here!

Makoto: All the mysteries...?

Monokuma: That's right, Every last mystery tht's pawing around the school. If you can do that... then that'll be enough to koalfy as a victory for you!

Kyoko: That's what we've been trying to do all along...

Monokuma: Okay, well, good! Then let's bear it all! If you can claw your way to the truth of Mukuro's death, AND solve the mysteries of this school... then you win! But if you *can't* do all of that...

Kyoko: We'll all face execution. Right?

Monokuma: Keheheh.. I can bearly contrain my excitement... When you learn the whole truth... what kind of despair will you show me?

Kyoko: We're as excited as you are, I'm sure. When we've uncovered every last truth, how will the Ultimate Despair reveal their own despair...? But before we get started, I want to clarify one more thing. Do you remember the rule? When on student kills naother, that's when a class trial is held.

Monokuma: I remember that, fur sure. So what?

Kyoko: I just want to confirm, that *is* what you said, right? And it's a true statement?

Monokuma: Kehehe. You don't have to be so suspicious. I've said it before, but it bears repeating... Everythung is based on the school regulations. And having a trial for Mukuro is no exception to that.

Makoto: Huh...?

Monokuma: Kehehe... it's a very polrizing approach, I know, but-okay, enough puns. Anyway, here's a hint... I'm sure I told you this already, but... this killing game began with seventeen participnts, all of them high school students. And the only people to take a single step in Hope's Peak since the killing game began... are those seventeen students.

Makoto: What...?

Kyoko: Are you telling the truth?

Monokuma: ...

Makoto: Why'd he go quiet ll of a sudden...?

Monokuma: Phuhu... Phuhu.... Before I officially finish talking, there's one more thing directed directly at the traitor, during this trial you will regret everything you did to me. I will make you suffer like no one else!  Now I'm done talking! I got nothin' left to say to you! So get lost, would ya!?

Makoto: Why so mad!?

Kyoko was looking at me, I knew what was coming... I knew he was going to tell everyone what I did... Everyone would probably turn their back on me. I'd regret betraying him... though even if that happens. I'm happy I was able to help them reach this point....

Kyoko: He seems... emotionally unstable.

Monokuma: Leave me alone! Get outta here!

Makoto: O-Okay, I'm going, I just... You're really gonna let me go?

Monokuma: Hmph. I don't even care anymore. You're all gonna get your punishement later anyway. I need to start getting it ready. A super duper extra special punishement, overflowing with despair... Phuhu... Phuhuhu..

Kyoko: Come on, Athea, Makoto. Let's go.

All of us left the gym while the bear was having a laughing fit.

Makoto: Kyoko... thank you. Everything I have right now is because of you.

Kyoko: Don't thank me just yet. The real battle is stil ahead of us.

Makoto: Yeah, true...

Kyoko: But still, I'm glad it worked out. I wasn't sure if the enemy would accept my proposal.

Makoto: B-But honestly, why would the mastermind agree to that? I mean, they don'T stand to gain anything froma  final showdown, do they?

Athea: Because they had no choice.

Makoto: Huh...?

Kyoko: It's all because of that on emoment that mastermind let down their guard, like I said.

Makoto: So when was it that the mastermind let their guard down...?

Kyoko: I wasn't the to hear it myself, but do you remember what the mastermind said? They sad they had hijacked the ariwaves to brodcast our school life to the outside worl, right?

Makoto: Y-Yeah, they definitely said that...

Kyoko: And what did you htink when you heard that? Pretty hard to believe, right?

Makoto: Well... I mean, the idea of actually taking over the airwaves seems so... unvelievable.

Kyoko: You don't exactly read about something like that happening very often, so it's hard to imagine. In other words, that kind of thing s extremely difficult to pull off.

I stopped listeneing, I started having a headache, though it felt different. I laid against the wall of the entrance of the gym. My vision became blurry, what was going on... I felt fine earlier why all of this all of a sudden. I slid myself against the wall and sat down.

Kyoko: Athea?

I could barely hear anything, the headache was growing more painful every minute. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder shaking me and then nothing... I passed out.

-

I was walking with three people in the hallway. On had short black hair... she looked like Mukuro Ikusaba... The other one has red eyes and long dark hair and the other one... it was Junko... though she didn't have freckles. They were talking, but I couldn't hear a thing. I looked around and the place felt familiar... it was Hope's Peak Academy.

I reached for my head and felt something. I was wearing a mask and my clothing was slithly different. As I noticed everything, Junko turned around. "Hey girlfriend! So what is the ______ ________ is going to do to help us!?

She didn't say the name... why? Was this a dream or a flashback... I could only stare at her. Mukuro was giving me a glare and Junko was simply smiling like a kid. Why was with them, I know I have something to do with the Tragedy, but... this... I don't remember this.

A guard came running to us, without even controlling anything, I reached for something and shot the guy... why... why did I have that and why did I shoot him. I looked down at the weapon... it was a crossbow...

-

I woke up in panic, the first thing I saw were Kyoko and Makoto looking down at me worried.

Kyoko: Athea what is going on?

I looked at her and shook my head.

Athea: I can't tell you...

Even if I remembered mostly of what had happened, I didn't know I was involved in the tragedy directly... I though I just...

I helped the mastermind with the tragedy... meaning... am I partially responsible for this killing game too? How much am I involved in this?
