Chapter 11 - Aftermath of a Confrontation

11:24 am Kalos Central Time, Kiloude City

"Wow..." Serena breathed out in wonder as she took in the fresh air of her native region.  "Kiloude City sure is beautiful isn't it, Ash?"

Ash and Serena were currently walking down the streets of the marvelous Kiloude City, one of the Kalos region's most famous cities in the world. Their hands were intertwined as they walked through the city, taking in all the beautiful sights of buildings and stalls. Ash in particular was eyeing a food stall that was serving Kalos-style crepes topped with Gogoat milk ice cream.

"Yeah." Ash smiled and nodded at her, while then sharing a look with the mouse-like creature next to his head. Pikachu was sitting on his right shoulder while nibbling on a little pastry the couple had decided to buy for the mouse Pokémon from a nearby street food vendor.

"Cha~" Pikachu squeaked with pleasure he was feeling from the delicious treat. The flavor of the pastry reminded him of his favorite Ketchup.

Ash couldn't help but smile as he watched Pikachu enjoy himself. The mouse Pokémon did deserve it after all for all the hard work he put into helping his trainer commit his murderous acts of vengeance against Tierno and Calem. 

"Finally... my main problems have been eliminated and we can rest easy now..." Ash thought to himself. Our protagonist with raven hair and auburn-brown eyes glanced at Serena who was cherishing the moment they were having alone together. He had his arm around her in a protective manner just in case she might collapse on the spot. She was still tired after the situation with Team Rocket, after all.

He mentally cursed at Team Rocket for putting Serena in such danger in front of his own very own eyes. All just for his Pikachu. He witnessed the dastardly trio commit dangerous and somewhat heinous acts before, but what recently happened was on a whole other level. 

 The raven-haired teenager then sighed and shook his head. At least now Team Rocket will never bother him and Serena again. What did worry him was what Jessie said about their organization being not only part of Pokémon trafficking, but human trafficking as well. The thought of that simply didn't sit right with him.

"So, Ash. Where is the hotel that you reserved for us?" Serena asked her boyfriend with an excited expression as she also squeezed their intertwined hands.

Serena's question seemed to have knocked Ash out of his deep thoughts as the blank expression on his face instantly vanished, the color returning to his eyes.

"We are almost there," Ash answered as he surveyed his surroundings. He noticed that their surroundings changed a bit as they were no longer near the major shopping districts with most of the top boutiques anymore. They were now seemingly heading towards larger buildings. He wasn't exactly lying when he said they were almost there. They could actually see the hotel from where they were currently at. 

"I hope you are right. My feet are killing me!" Serena complained with a slight groan in her voice as she looked down at her dragging feet. This had caused Ash to suddenly chuckle at her child-like behavior.

"Now you're talking like Clemont." Ash teased as he thought about their lemon-haired traveling companion. Ash still had dark thoughts involving killing Clemont and somewhat Bonnie for some reason, but he used all his willpower to push it to the back of his mind. His focus was only on Serena now.

Serena blushed at his comment and lightly punched his stomach, causing his boyfriend to laugh at her cute behavior. "S-sh-shut up!" 

Ash couldn't hold back his laugh at seeing his girlfriend's behavior, causing her to pout. In Ash's mind, he started remembering something from the starting years of his journey throughout the world. "Geez, now you're behaving like my friend Misty back in Kanto. She would always act like such a tsundere whenever Brock, Tracey, or I make a comment about her. I should tell you about the time when Brock and I witnessed her makeover by Team Rocket at their pop-up salon at Scissor Street."
