Sharon stared bewildered at the girl at her beside, who clutched her hand in her palms and cried, "It's all my fault, Sharon. All my fault..."
She cracked a puzzled smile as she looked at Rea feeling utterly perplexed. "I was an accident, Rea. It has nothing to do with you."
But Rea only shook her head, refusing to let go of her hand and crying as if Sharon were on her deathbed. Yoongi was beside her watching her with a certain solemn air to him. She looked to him for some kind help but she only got in return from him was that same solemn stare.
"What's going on? Why is it your fault? It was a drunk driver. Besides, I'm fine. I only have a broken leg."
"But you could have gotten hurt!" sea wailed, clutching her hands.
Sharon nodded her head, "Well, yeah. It was a close call but you know what? I narrowly missed death. Nothing can hurt me!"
She was trying to ease the weird tension in the room. Nonetheless, it didn't have much of an effect as Rea only wailed even harder fat drops of tears streaming down the sides of her cheeks.
Yoongi, however, seemed to have a reaction to her statement as he finally opened his mouth and spoke, "That's right. You have the blessings of the heavens. You won't go down that easily." Sharon cocked her head, amused. "Never knew you were the religious kind, Yoongi."
"Well," he shrugged. "I'm quite unpredictable."
"You are strange, Yoongi," she affirmed watching him bemused, "I have known you for a long time but I feel like I met you only yesterday."
Yoongi's eyes widened a fraction and he quickly looked away clearing his throat. Rea released the hold on her hand in a momentary surprise as her elbows, which were supporting her head, slipped off the edge of her bed. Sharon's attention turned back to her. "I didn't know you would be worried that much. I wouldn't have broken the news like that if I had known."
Rea took a moment or two to recover before she finally shook her head as if to say it was alright but no words formed in her mouth and all that came out was an airy gasp.
When Rea had received the news of Sharon's accident, the first thought that came to her mind was Choker. As if he had read her mind, which he probably did, Suga had appeared beside her that instant, and without wasting another moment he had transported her to the hospital using his powers as if he knew that was what she needed the most at that time. When Rea had finally reached the hospital and had found that Sharon was alright, she was so overcome with relief she almost fell on the floor had it not been for the angel.
Come to think of it, Rea wondered. He always knew what I was thinking. Suga seemed to have some sort of telepathic connection with her and either he didn't let it on or that he didn't bother to read others' minds, it looked to her as if Suga could only read hers. Only her.
She didn't bother asking him about his powers since she knew she would never get a straight answer from him. Now, Rea would have believed that it was because he didn't want to reveal too much about the 'divine matters' to her or because of his slightly cold attitude but the awkward clearing of his throat and the faint, almost undetectable pink that stained his cheeks whenever she talked about his powers gave it away. He might not look like it but the angel was very shy.
"Visiting hours are over," a nurse suddenly appeared at the bedside and politely announced.
Yoongi and Rea exchanged final greetings and promised Sharon to visit again. Yoongi even gave Sharon a consoling pat, much to Rea's surprise, before they both left the room. As soon as Rea was out of the room, she turned to the angel.
