Maka's pov

There's no way Kidd is sick. I call bull. He was fine until his pants ripped. And even then he didn't seem ill.

I was walking towards Death the Kidd's house pondering more more. His house is easy to find. It's utterly perfect. Everything is in place and the exterior is ugly but pretty too. As I stepped closer to the house I started hearing noises coming from the direction of the building. It sounded like someone or something was in pain. At this point I was scared that a demon was around and I had no weapon at all. But I carried on and walked to Death the Kidd's door. I knocked at least four times all of which received no answer. I rang the doorbell, also no answer. I remembered that he hid a spare key it was a matter of finding it though. Call me crazy but I just want to know the truth. And there could be a soul eating monster in there. I found it finally! I opened the door to see the perfectly symmetrical house. It was decorated beautifully even if the main colors consisted of black and white. The trim was a gold and it was a perfect accent to everything. I then remembered my reason as to why I was there. The groans continued to become louder so I ran up the stairs taking out my pocket knife in case I ran into a Kishin. I was now running because it sounded worse, and then I knocked one of the fucking candles down. And then the noise quieted. I stepped closer to Kidd's room and sat there for a second. I slowly put my ear against the door and immediately started searching for their souls. And that's when I saw of the largest soul resonance ever. I immediately stepped back in fear. I didn't have words for exactly what I was feeling. Betrayal? No, I don't know. But it hurts.

Kidd's pov

Something seemed off. Wrong. Just the overall vibe was not ok. I looked around the classroom waiting for Stein and Maka to enter. Maka was never late, never missed a day of school so something must have happened. And well Stein, who knows.

"Hey? You ok Kidd?" Patty poked my shoulder frightening me a bit.

"I don't know, something feels off?" I replied and rested my face on my hand. And I felt myself becoming tired.

"At least I'm not the only one who thought so, I just am getting a bad feeling that something has happened and or will happen" Tsubaki replied to my comment and she seemed as confused and worried as me.

"Hello and good morning DWMA students!! No announcement for today! Have a great day! And stay out of trouble!"

As soon as my dad got off the intercom Maka entered the classroom and Stein came right behind her. But both of them looked different. Stein looked more mad than usual. And Maka, well, I don't know. I felt myself falling asleep.

And then Stein called me and Soul down from our seats.

"Ok Kidd, your dad wants to talk with you, and Soul" he looked annoyed as hell. As if he wanted to slap us.

We both reluctantly walked down to my dad's office. If that's what it was called. Soul grabbed my hand and stopped me from walking.

"What's wrong?" He looked confused and also concerned.

"I don't know why my dad wants to talk to us. This day just seems off." I sighed a bit and continued to walk. Soul continued to hold my hand as we walked down the hallway.
