𝐘𝐄-𝐑𝐈𝐍'𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐏𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐘 𝐀𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐖 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐆𝐘, but 8 year old Ye-Rin kept running. She pushed pass numerous people, much taller than she was, with no sense of direction or destination.

She was breaking into a cold sweat as she felt her muscles tense up, but young Ye-Rin had no idea what was going on, why she was feeling what she was.

Her head was spinning as she made her way into Hera Palace's lobby── not that she had the focus to actually know where she was but nonetheless made her way into the worse place she could be at the time.

She thudded onto the floor of the lobby after her knees had given up on her, Ye-Rin crawled towards the nearest object she could find and pressed her back against it── in this case, it was the couch in the waiting area.

Her hands clasped tight against her ears trying to mask out the noise of everyone there as tears slipped from her eyes making them red, her hair was now twisted and tangled as her knees were up against her chest.

Eyes. She felt numerous eyes on her without having to look up, she could sense them circling around her. Hera Palace's receptionists crowded around the little girl in hopes to coax her to calm down after noticing she had been making a fuss which attracted the attention of everyone there.

But it wasn't working, only, it had made it worse. To 8 year old Ye-Rin, it was suffocating, there were too many people around and her thoughts were moving a mile a minute. So her body began functioning by itself, and she had found herself hyperventilating.

She wanted to calm down, she really really did, but at this point, Ye-Rin had no control of her body nor her senses.

That was until she felt something drape over her body, completely encasing her in the soft material. Joo Seok-Hoon was coming back from a swim when he noticed the small crowd, taking a peak, he saw a girl, no older than him if he had to guess, on the ground in a distressed state.

That was the first time he had laid his eyes on Ye-Rin.

Without much thought, he ran over and covered her with his damp towel. Thankful that it was large enough to completely engulf her, he slid under the towel and tried his best to help her.

" Hey! How many fingers am I holding up, " Seok-Hoon motioned his hand in front of her but the girl remained unresponsive. " Hey! Look here! How many fingers am I holding, " he said now louder than before which grabbed her attention. Giving her a few moments, she spoke in a cracked voice.

" T-two, " she mumbled just loud enough for him to hear. Nodding, he displayed another set of fingers.

" And now? " Seok-Hoon asked.

" S-six, " she replied. Her voice now slightly more stable than before, he sighed in relief realizing she was no longer trying to catch her breath and her tears now stopped leaving only a trail on her cheeks.

" Ye-Rin! Baby! Where are you? " They heard a woman's voice shout, her ears perked up recognizing the familiar voice of her mother.

" Ye-Rin! It's okay! Mom and dad are here! " Another voice spoke, this time it was more masculine and deep, her father.

Quickly pulling the blanket away from her body, she dashed towards her parents with open arms. Her mother carried her as she nested in the crook of her neck, afraid to make eye contact with anyone else.

Her parents took notice of the boy who was under the towel with her and made their way to him, Seok-Hoon remained in his position, his eyes showing no signs of intimidation.

" Thank you for helping our daughter, " the father thanked. The younger boy slightly nodded his head in acknowledgement, " you're Joo Dan-Tae's son aren't you? " The dad inquired and once again another nod, " well then. Once again, thank you for helping Ye-Rin. "

Just then, Ye-Rin turn to look at him, her eyes now puffy but nonetheless still beautiful. The two made eye contact and Seok-Hoon felt his cheeks burning up.

" I think she might need to go for a checkup, " the boy blurted out. " She shows signs that aren't normal for someone our age to be experiencing, " Seok-Hoon cleared up. The Heo parents had already been considering it, and thus, after this final confirmation, they urgently rushed their daughter to the hospital to find out what was happening to her.

And thus they found out, 8 year old Heo Ye-Rin was diagnosed with a panic disorder.

i'd like to apologize before hand if these symptoms of a panic disorder isn't completely accurate, i tried my best to research a bunch of sites before writing this. i too struggle with social anxiety as well as mild panic attacks but definitely not to this extent so i'm sorry if this comes off as wrong information :)

anyways, a shorter chapter than the previous ones since i just want to get her mental health laid out since it'll play a huge factor in this book as well as the first time she met seok-hoon. please vote!
