Charlie Jackson
We met up with Christain and Spence, waiting in line to get into Town Hall. All the boys complained about the chitons while the rest of us waited impatiently to get in.
Andrew had his arm hooked around my waist, pulling me closer to him. After that evening when we had finally gotten together I felt closer to him than ever. Only Bella knows what happened and I think she was more excited to hear about it than I was when it happened.
Finally, we stood in front of the doors and handed in our tickets. My parents were already inside since the party had really started an hour ago. The first hour was for the people who fought in the wars only, then the regular campers could join.
As soon as I stepped inside, my jaw dropped. The room was gorgeous. Assortments of colorful flowers, adorned the room, courtesy of the Demeter cabin no doubt. On the stage, a band of Apollo kids sang songs perfect for dancing. The left side of the room was full of fancy round tables and food and drink tables lined the walls.
I reached for Andrew's hand and pulled him to the center of the dance floor, where all our friends followed. The music was so loud I couldn't hear myself think, and there were so many people I barely had space to dance, but I was still having a great time.
After dancing for who knows how long, I snuck away from the crowd with Bella and Lane. We plopped down at a table to rest our legs.
"Holy shit, I'm already exhausted." Bella sighed
"My hair is falling out." Lane ran her hands gently over her fancy updo.
"Just take it out," I shrugged, "It'll be easier than worrying about it."
She nodded then proceeded to pull out all of the clips and pins, letting her blonde hair fall loose over her shoulders.
I reclined back into my chair and sipped some water.
"Hey, Charlie," A guy's voice said from behind me.
I turned around and was greeted by Parker Davis, a son of Ares. I met him last summer we hung out a lot.
"Hey, Parker! What's up?" I stood up and greeted him with a hug.
"Nothing really," he smiled a lazy grin, "just trying to not get trampled."
I laughed, "I feel that," I sighed, " there's so many people here."
"Want to go get a drink with me?" He asked, pointing behind him at the drink table.
I nodded and walked off with him. I grabbed a cup and reached for the ladle to pour myself some punch from the bowl. Parker put his hand on mine to stop me. He glanced back and forth, then pulled a large flask out of his jacket pocket.
I began to shake my head, "No, Parker, you really shouldn't"
"Oh come on, there's so many adults here this is the only way we're going to get to have any real fun." She started to unscrew the lid.
"There's younger kids here!" I argued, I spotted Miles, Josh, and their friends not too far away. They should not be drinking that young.
"Then they're going to have a great night too." He smirked, then dumped the contents of his flask into the punch bowl. He stirred it around with the ladle then served himself and I some. took a slow sip. Damn, that's strong.
"Come on," he put his hand on the small of my back and led me away from the table. "Let's dance." he set his cup down and I did the same.
"I was just about to take a break-"
